5x8 bearings suck, they disintegrate really fast. Rpm castor blocks and the new castor blocks fit 5x11's which are ok. You can pick up the Traxxas blocks at any LHS for cheap. I use ebay bearings with fiber sides. I don't really like them, next time Im getting something with metal sides.

Oh,... Well I just seen a video with the vxl and it looks like mine, Is that fastlane.com? whats thier website? i just did a search and can'y find it , thanks I like that one. does it act as a heat sink? Is it any better or worse then the one from RC monster?

I think they did update the newer tranny case, but mines actually an anodized aluminum one from Fast Lane....

They sell them through addictedtoRC.com , but I might suggest you go with another company. I had to cut into the vertical wall behind the ESC just to get the tranny to fit in place. They made the front of it too long to fit the stock chassis by about 1/8 inch. Then I had to ream out the suspension arm mounts cause the holes were a little to small to accept the standard screw-pin. I got it all to fit on, but I'm not really happy about how I had to do it. Plus the Fastlane cost about $80, the one from Integy only cost $40. Of course I didn't find the Integy one till after I ordered the Fastlane one.

It's a kodak 5 megapixil. It's good for still shots but when ever there moving half of them are very blurry. I might get a new DTX pack today!

Thanks for the info, I read on the one from FLM that you have to cut some on the chassis to make it fit also. Don't know why they couldnt make one that fits just like the stock one.

yea im not very happy with fastlane either...they were very hard to deal with.....I was very patient when they didn't send me the o rings that go with their cvd kit...I wasn't aware that there were supposed to be these parts so the pin came out while driving Nd destroyed the extended a rm I got from them.....a month ago they said they would send me a new one and I never heard from them....so I emailed them but they said they never received the old one.....I was never told to send in the old one. so I haven't used my vxl in 2 months now at least....I didn't want to run it in the shape its in but I guess I will until it breaks and then put it back to stock.

Just finished adding a capacitor to my system and wow, I honestly think I have more power now and the glitching problem is less pronounced. I'm not positive yet, but I think it's also running a bit cooler, nothing went over 130... on-road driving with 18/83 gearing and the top off...

I used a single 2000uF 50v cap from radio shack. Here's some pics...

Well, voltage rating doesn't really matter that much as long as it's higher than your battery. Voltage across the capacitor will never exceed the source voltage. The larger farad rating just allows for more energy storage meaning you can punch it longer without the cap draining. You could do the same thing with a bunch of smaller caps all in parallel with the battery and the farad number just adds up. Smaller caps do give faster charging rates so they recover quicker, but I just went with one big one for the sake of simplicity...

This just functions as a type of voltage "shock absorber" to help smooth out and reduce voltage drops when you're punching the throttle or starting from a dead stop.

EDIT: I once saw a dude who built a go cart with about a dozen capacitors that were the size of tennis ball containers, similar to the big ones you find on high power subwoofers. It was crazy fast!
