Well, it was bound to happen to me too. Check this out. I noticed something didnt feel quite right today. I KNEW i put those CVD's together real good with RED loctite. When i took the axle out i was like, "umm...howd that get out of the axle???" The pin was still in place! At a glance it looks like the axle is still together. Which it is i guess. Take a closer look, and you'll see the fracture. I dont know if this is a stress fracture from the jumping at the local track (god i hope not), or from the roll over. Either way, check it out. Guess i need to find some replacement parts. LST is down for a while. I gotta go check and make sure the others are all in one piece as well. Richard, wheres the Hard anodized CVD's????

Not technically damage but my XS3 was DOA out of the box. Luckily I already have one, so I was able to erase the profile for the MicroRS4. I guess I'll be calling Horizon tomorrow.

Well I finally broke an axle also, I was letting someone use it and they rolled it under a car and the wheel broke off. I bet I cracked it at the skate park and getting wedged under the car did it in.

oh yea - my truck is blue so i think the red theory is out.

Just curious. How many people have contacted Losi about the axles? While some hits seem justified, others dont. Mine is kinda odd. Being a fracture like that.

No damage here after three tanks. Mainly driveway usage though for break in. However the reason I am really posting to to let any new LST owners know that they need ot make sure their needle settings are correct before attempting to start the truck. My low needle was tighted all the way down (even though the manual says they are set at the factory), so I am sure others are not correct and can cause some problems if not checked. Also, I recommend if you have a coredless driver forget about the included starter and put the bit in your driver.

well I went to a socer field and ran mine today. and noticed a clicking noise and lost second gear. looked at the spur and pinion gears and both are chewd up realy bad. they need to make a second cover for the spurs cuz thats not going to do much good only the one. now I got to find spurs and a pinion for it.

What's up troops? Well I was at the track this weekend and saw the LST for the first time. Now I am hooked! It is huge compared to my Savage! I was really impressed by it's performance. I think that out the box it is the best truck that I have ever seen. Now I have been reading you guys post for the last week and wondering if something was going to give on this truck. Hopefully TL will fix the problem with the CVDS (if there is one to fix). I am going to get one soon, keep posting if you break anything else , that will give me a heads up on the extras that I will have to order

Just got off the phone with Bill at Losi. They are sending me some replacement clutch springs, and a replacement axle. So far, so good. So far this truck proves to be the toughest i've owned right from the start. Im really pleased with the Team Losi service. Im hoping that i dont have any problems with the new axle.

replacing the axle dont fix the problem, its just a band aid. losi needs to redesign the axle and find out why they are breaking.

Very true. We will see how well the replacement holds up. It could have been as simple as a bad batch, or it could need a new design. Either way, we wont know until the replacements are in place and tested. Within the next two weeks we should see the replacement axles either break, or prove to be stronger.
