I just wanna say. It's an ugly thing to see when these big tires start coming unglued. My back tires both came unglued. Guess I need to learn how to glue tires now.

- Snapped Left front axle clean off right at the CVD cup. CVD is intact, just a gaping hole where the axle used to be.

T'was a beautiful sight, LST clearing the doubles, sailing over the table tops, floating through the whoops... THEN... clears the doubles cleanly yet again looking like an angle flying through the air and SNAP the left front wheel goes zinging off into the sky when the truck returned to terra firma...

ARGH@!!!!!!!

The left side CVD cups are WAY too brittle / there is too little material holding the axle to them. There is a ring less than 1/2 a millimeter holding that entire axle on. Snapped clean off. For a 13+ Lb truck, I would have expected a little more...

Rich T., will Losi / Horizon replace this for me? (I know others have had this same issue and have gotten replacements.) I will call on Monday I guess...

I would just go buy replecements BUT my biggest problem up here in the frozen north is that BOTH my LHS's refuse to bring parts in "untill they know what breaks" They are really lame when it comes to supporting the Losi crowd up here. All the AE and Kyosho crud you can shake a stick at but they won't support Losi unless it's the Mini-T... ARGH!!!!

Anyways, it was a blast running this truck, now it's shelved until I get replacement parts...

The great north might be quicker than LOSI. I am now into week number 2 of waiting for my parts. If it wasnt for me going out to get some parts made this new LST would still be in the box. No engine mount, no set screw and axle pin or tranny main shaft yet. Lets see if 3 weeks will come and go like the 2 weeks has.

They are great with telling everyone that they will replace this and that. But I have yet to see any parts. Missing parts on their part and still no action.

Called Losi again and spoke to Bill. He said that if my parts hadnt arrived yet that they probably wont be? So he took my parts order again and resent them. Hopefully these ones will show up

I got my LST when they first arrived. Please read how my experience has gone since then:

First day: break in went fine didn't get to finish.

Second day: Just about to finish break in and lost a CVD pin. Went in for the night and fixed with some creative engineering.

Third day: broke suspension arms on first tank of gas after break in. Waited several days for new ones.

After revieving suspension arms: Engine locked up, metal pieces and my piston sleeve and motor housing took hard damage. Sent it to Horizon and revieved it back 6 days later with a new piston and sleeve. I wasn't happy becouse the engine itself took some hard damage. Horizon told me it will be fine.

During rebreakin: Tried to use starter for first time since the engine lock up I guess I stripped the plastic gear trying to start the engine when it was locked.Cannot seem to dial this engine in now. Can not even get it to idle without the throttle open so far that the stop screw doesn't matter. Throttle sticks bad. Also, clutch springs went.

Now: I await to here from Losi again about this engine. I can handle broken pieces but not engine damage. Anyone can replace a $5.00 part and not sweat it but this engine is not right!

Glad to here others are getting some run time in. Winter will be here before I know it in central PA!

Damn dude. That really sucks. When it rains it pours, I guess.

I had similar issues with my Tmaxx when I got it. Anything that could go wrong, did. So I know how you feel. Hopefully Losi will do all they can to help you with your truck. Trust me, once this truck is dialed in right, it's absolutely awesome! Don't give up, it sucks to wait, especially when it's a $600 truck, but when it's right it's well worth it!

hehe, yea Jefx. I think what happened is Losi went a bit heavy on the red loctite!

I Got some cheapy $3 allen drivers from Sears Craftsman and they work amazingly well! No stripping, no premature rounding of the heads, they just work.

Be sure to remember not to go too tight with the screws. A bit of blue loctite and tightened with a driver instead of the leverage-amplifying L keys they give you is a much better scenario. Cranking down on those tiny hex screws is completely unnecessary. Don't go so tight and just periodically check everything to make sure it's still firmly seated.

If you can't get a screw out without exerting serious force on it and risking stripping, try putting a soldering iron to the head of the screw for a few minutes if it's metal on metal. And remember to ALWAYS use the proper sized hex key. If it sits loose in the screw and it's the only key you have, DON'T turn it! Buy a proper fitting hex driver or key for a few bucks and then attempt to remove it. Patience is a virtue not to be ignored even while working on RC trucks.

hmmm today I was at the track and just ripping the **** out of the competition when all of a sudden all it did was rev and not move ((

Checked the spurs they are fine, clutch is fine.

After close examination I found the problem. The trans output shaft snapped right in half???? I was going around a corner and gave it some gas and it just snapped. No more power to the wheels.

Gonna call Bill up on this one and see what they have to say.

Here is a pic of the carnage

The extent of my LST damage. Think I should call Losi about this one?

It's a pin for the hex nuts at the wheel. Believe it or not it snapped in half while pulling the nut off by hand doing my axle swap today. Left to right, right to left.
