I think he's trying to say that no one can depend on a government agency to complete its' work quickly, or on time, so things could be delayed a couple of days or so. If you have ever had to deal with ports, customs, and imports prior to 911, you how bad it was. Thinking about how it must be now makes me cringe in despair.

Thanks, Mike.

A good friend dug that and some others up and sent them to me. Hopefully, I won't get any trouble using it, since it's for personal use and not being used for profit or to generate business. It is kinda neat, though.

Tom, this is slightly unrelated but slightly relavant as well

When you recieve the planes from Thailand, are they unpacked and inspected for possible shipping damage, then re-packed and shipped to the buyer? Or do you just ship them out as they come out of the container?

We open up each box and look around for stuff that we know to be a problem, like missing tailwheel assembly or 2 left wheel pants, and we look at all the visible stuff like the canopy, proper color covering, anything we can see. We then add the manual and any accessories that were ordered and repack stuff so that there is small chance of shipping damage.

Since the plane is wrapped in foam sheeting we don't unwrap it all to inspect, that would do more harm than good. We do look the boxes ove for obvious signs of damage, but that is rare since they come in a tightly packed container which protects them in transit.

Thank you for the quick answer Tom.

I am not really that concerned about damage(the UPS guy might be a different story lol), it was more of a curiosity question. Does give me a little peace of mind to know that you give them a quick once-over before sending them out.

I have had three of them delivered by UPS. The planes are packed so well that when the UPS guy dropped one out the side of his truck, there was no damage even though it landed on a rock sharp enough to puncture the boxes. They come double boxed.

As a side note:

That UPS Driver was fired for not being able to damage the contents of the carton........

Jemo,

I sure wish you had said that AFTER I got mine shipped UPS. I'd hate to see them take that as a personal challenge.

I know, after reading all the posts about the extra special, that I'm super excited about them. I got on the list just in time to have one in this batch. I've already got my work area laid out with all the servo's, engine and misc stuff that'll go in it. Everyday when I get home from work I check my credit card account to see if Tom's billed me yet, which would mean that "the planes in the mail". Yeah, I know, get a life...LOL....I'm crazed and can't help myself!
