I owned a cermark breeze.I found it to be a execellent glider. It came with a 550 motor, folding prop and a metal spinner all of which was of very good quality.Cermark does a lot of pre-assembly for you which saves a lot of building time. The glider flew very well on 8 or 10 cell nicads(really fast on 10 cells).Cermark gives you a lot of bang for the buck.I also own a cermark banchee another great plane.

Phil
Alas, I lost my breeze to a strong thermal-first time for me in 10 years of flying gliders.

I also fly the original Breeze, very nice plane, with a brushed motor(model motors) and 8 1600mAh cells.I dont use the flaps as this takes me to 6 servos, and I dont think think the ESC likes that many.So I have to be careful about landing too fast. The only down side is the cracks appearing around where the wing dowels fit the fus and near the canopy area,Ive reported this to my supplier and distributor in the UK.They seem to think this is normal stress fractures. Ive reinforced the inside with extra resin, hope it holds ok,hate to lose such a nice looking plane.

What attracted me to the breeze was its looks and ability to fly in wind.
This was a serious mistake! I have changed the t tail to full flying stab, used a
1507 cermark motor, and even replaced the wing with a cut down standard class
glider wing. I hope the breeze 2 is a lot better than the 1!

ptb - why did you make those mods? mine flew in the wind fine and the stab was also fine. the major refinement in the II is the wing reinforcement to pull higher g's. one of our writers is reviewing it right now.

Since I last posted Ive had total wing failure on the Breeze mark 1. Yesterday I was decending from a thermal, and the right wing snapped off completely from the fus. breaking the carbon fibre wing strut and pulling the plastic wing bolt clean out of the metal insert.
Needless to say the fus is a right off,but wings could be repaired, motor also useless now with bent outer casing. The onlookers were amazed as the wing floated down some time after the fus. hit the ground, sorry no photos or video. Back to the makers!!

Hi there,

I'm toying with the idea of purchasing the mark II after reading the reviews but honestly admit to struggling with the eletric lingo. Basically I'm a electric virgin but IC has just become so anti-social now I must move with the times, the options on the box talk of the 600 brushless geared motor giving astonishing performance but alas the motors etc aren't readily available in the UK ?

My question is anyone in the UK reading this got one with an awesome setup of parts bought locally ?

Also looking at the construction pictures the elevator pushrod looks pretty flimsy , has anyone had any flutter ?

Thanks

To cadman.
I have been playing with these gliders for 50 years off and on.
The breeze was my first electric! but since then i have gotten 4 more in the search
for the perfect glider! The breeze fusalage was crooked where the stab mounted.
The pushrod for the elevator at about a 75 degree angle is mickey mouse! the
surface rarely ever centered! The wing should have 1 to 2 degrees washout,
to prevent tip stall. the
glider is heavy(stone), a tapered 2 meter wing with this wing loading is barely a glider.
closer to a warm liner without the horsepower!

My breeze was a little heavy but I didn't give it bad marks for that because it is sold more as a hotliner than a soaring aircraft. I did get some pretty good glides in thermals from mine and later tried a thunderpower pack which gave it more juice. I never had the problem with the wings folding. I had sold it to a buddy of mine at my field who LOVED it and then flew the heck out of it and still loved it too. I didn't have any twist in my fuse and while the elevator pushrod setup is not "idea" in practice it worked fine for me. If you watch the videos we took this plane flew from day one without a hitch for us. Also I really did some fast full throttle high speed dives with hard pullouts BEFORE I was told that the wings could fold on the original breeze! Fortunately they never did for me even through some high g pullouts.

I have a writer working on the Breeze II now and he is only waiting on motor/esc/battery to complete it.
