He put a DuBro 32oz tank crosswise, just in front of the instrument panel, and stacked his batteries on top of the tank. He also lined the all the front area, around the muffler box, with heat asorbing ceramic paint from BVM, and is going to use a BVM heat blanket between the back of the muffler box and the fuel tank.

Very nice plane. I hope the heat shielding works and there is enough airflow to cool everything. I just received mine and I'm really happy with how scale this thing is. Its going to be a good time building this.
Thanks to all who are posting helpful info on this forum. Thanks

Hello Mitch:

Maybe I can help with your "Temptation" 44-73027 documentation. It was destroyed in a fatal crash killing the ferry pilot and his son as they were in route to an airshow in Switzerland in 1998. Below are several images and there are others available. I often assist customers in their search for documentation. Miguel Berastain is doing an excellent job finishing his Flite-Metal covered "Temptation".
If you want additional documentation help just contact me back channel through the FM website.

Mitch,
This TLH101, on Miguel's computer,
Look on airliners.net, as well for a few pics.
Be aware, there are 2 different paint schemes for this model. There are very few good pics of either available. The later scheme is more polished, has invasion stripes, and does not have a blue pinstripe below the white line on the fuse. Keep this in mind. Also, there is no history of these markings being correct for any unit in WWII.
BTW, Miguel may take this one to Top Gun.
Terry

Ask Miguel if he is bringing it to Bomber in two weeks.

Here is large up close image of Temptation's logo: (or probably more appropriately referred to as "leggo"

Thanks for the info and effort. i have pretty much all that info and pics of the full size that you guys posted and i have looked at airliners.net Im glad im not the only geek out there when it comes to documentation . anyway thanks for help, you model is coming out awsome, it would be cool to have 2 temptations at top gun next year. i have one question, it might be the camera but did you paint the fuse dark blue instead of black? i am puting a 3w-80xi single in mine with kelos exhaust also

If anyone is building one of these it would be awesome! to see some build pictures pointing out your approach. I'm sure we will all do some things in a different way and this would be a good thread to post it.

TLH101,
That Keleo exhaust looks damn nice! I will have to have one now.

my only problem is picking the engine I will be content with in this thing. I like the twin but have concerns about the heat but I love the fact I dont have to cut the lower cowl. I think the 3w75-80 singles fit in there also but Im not sure how good and smooth those run. I dont want a shaker!
I still wonder how the twin worked out for Tobbe and by the way the Flight metal looks amazing on his and the temptation

cheers,
skipper

Miguel is going to e-mail me some of the detail pics, and close ups, so I will post them when they get here. We ran the engine today for the first time. He had stored it with quite a bit of oil, and when it first caught, the smoke from those scale exhaust was awesome. Had throttle linkage problems, so we did not get much running time. The muffler and stacks stayed pretty cool. The stacks never got to hot to touch.
I don't think he will be bringing it to Bomber Field. He won't have all the marking on it by then, or time to do any test flying.
