that is a very nice install indeed. I think i speak for a few other DA 85 owners in that we would be very happy to purchase a prop extension from you if you would be willing to sell one.

I have been working on a reduction drive an scale Constant Speed propeller for..oh, gee, 3 years plus now and do hope to get it into production some day (Dino, are you listening?) Darrell, you too??

however, in the mean time i would really like to get this flying and it looks like your install is a good solution.

if you arent interested in making/selling them, perhaps Darrell would if you would provide any specs.

and yes, we would all like some pics.

Status: offline 		picture says a thousand words there Delta. Sharp install indeed. Seems like a nice moderation of short standoffs and a reasonable length shaft extension to keep vibration and wear and tear down. Great work.

I 've heard nothing but good things about the flight charateristics...I'm actually building a Ziroli P51 but hang out here because of the cool info...but Dino must have a lot to say on it! I have a few videos where you get to see Dino fly and discuss this comp arf....try to get hold of Warbirds Scale Classic Kirkwood 1999 and also SKS video of Top Gun 2001...maybe also Top Gunn 2000? don't have that in front of me...but the two latter ones give close up detail walk around and a short discussion with great flight footage. Dino makes note of lot's of rudder needed on take off, but other than that it flys on rails...these older videos are usually only 10 bucks plus you get tons of other great footage of other scale warbirds from Roy Vallincourt, Greg Hahn, etc etc...Dino any comments?


I 've seen this other Gunfighter comp arf fly a number times along with the same guys Ziroli p51 and both look like heaven...can't wait to get mine in the air!

Sorry for not paying attention to this thread as I used to but Working full time and running Aero Accessories & Meister takes up my night time. Plus we are working on some new releases that will be a huge hit.
I would love to comment on the flight qualities of the P-51. It wont take long... the P-51 flies like a dream to sum it up. Not knocking FC or Comp-ARF but when making the molds the main gear is not in its perfect scale location and has a hard time lining up for the doors. The P-51 has a "sprawled" out look which gives the main tires a tow out effect. This effect makes it very tough on pavement. Other than that, the P-51 is a very nice and gentile flyer with lots of room to be aggressive! It will handle any maneuver you throw at it within reason. It holds a nice knife edge photo pass too. When landing, I always used full flaps with no problem. Keep the nose down and some power on. I never tried a three point as I did not want to stress the main gear area in the wing. The landing gear bay is not the strongest point of the aircraft. If theres a crosswind, keep that wing down and into the wind. Land with that wheel down first, thats prototypical on heavy crosswinds. If you guys have any other questions I missed please let me know. Good luck to all of you. You will love your P-51D.

Status: offline 		I could sell the stand-offs and extension for about 250.00 if not interested then I could give the specs. Up to you guys. I did make a custom stainless steel exhaust to fit between the engine and nacelle. Im going to take the pics tnite and post tmorrow. Still working on the plane. This plane has taken me 7 months non stop. My next project is a cactus bearcat with a moki 250 radial. Im pretty much a builder for other people. But this ought to be a fun project. I do fly myself but mainly 3D stuff, have to drive a good distance to a field that could handle a warbird. But yeah, if you guys dont want me to make I would be happy to give the specs.

Status: offline 		Will this long of a spacer destroy the crank bearings by putting a large load on the front bearing? Also if this spacer isn't perfect wont it cause some wobble and vibration?
Just my thoughts on long spacers.
