Mike,

A couple of questions if I may....

1. Do you know if there are any plans to bring out a 5245 servo with Karbonite gears? It's such a useful digital servo that it would seem a shame not to bring it up to par with Hitec's new range of digitals featuring Karbonite gears.

2. I'm using 5245's for each elevator in my 2m pattern aircraft. I've noticed some slop in the gears and was wondering whether replacing them with a nylon set will reduce the slop? My main concern is whether nylon gears can handle the loads. I was thinking of using Nylon Gearset 56341.

Thanks,
Iain

There are no plans for a Karbonite version as of yet, but you never know.

The metal gears will wear causing the slop but I don't think the nylon gears would be strong enough for application.

Mike,

ive just been reading various reply’s to messages about servos and im a little confused. I would just like to know what is the best suited servo for an average club flyer doing 3D (or attempted!). The type of plane is a Hype 3D. im just unsure what im looking for i.e. torque, speed etc and if the servo used maybe under to much strain if it would fail due to high stress etc. i understand no servo could last forever, but are there ways of prolonging life for the servos, or maybe getting karbonite gears or metal gears. The servos i am going to use are Hitec 5475's all round. What servos would you recommend?

Thanks
Robert
