Ok, Last time I took her to the track, I broke a pin on the CVD. After replacing the pin, and rebuilding all the rest of them so they will not come lose. All was well, took her out a few times during the week around the base an what not....Then today I took her back to the track....An on the first tank of fuel.....BAM....

The axel broke right at the base of the drive cup......Least the pins did not come out since I rebuilt them....
Here is another shot, you can see the axel still attached to the inside of the wheel.

Man I was so mad ....I mostly blame some little kid at the track though, cause the break happened on the straight....I was just coming out of the turn, heading into the straight....An the little dipstick, knowing he could dust me on the straight with his Daddy's Kanai III guns it, right up my butt. He pretty much drove right under my truck, and at the same time hit my front right wheel at full throttle.....

Now...I got to sit around waiting for parts again....MAN....I was so pissed I just packed my stuff an left....

I had the left side break in the exact same spot also, I would keep some spares around, hopefully stronger axles come out soon.

Call Bill at Losi, see if they have an ETA on the updated axles. I know they said they were working on it.

I finally broke one of my axles after hard racing yesterday (right side silver front axel). Called Bill at Losi and replacements and a few other parts that I asked for are on their way. I was just curious with you other racers what are the majority of axels broken. Right side Silver or Left side Black? Just wondering if the sliver side is the weakest or is it the black side? Or it doesnt matter and both are the same at their harden strength rate?

Yeah the same thing happend to me last nite. I was gonna submit the pictures to you guys today but you did a good job at that already. Mine looks exactly like yours. It broke right off at the ball end and left the shaft in my tire. Anyhow I'm having a hard time removing it. The hex screw isn't stripped but man its tough to take it off. Any suggestions? I called losi this morning but no call back yet.

Ok, got off the phone with Bill a little earlier today....He was real cool, asked what the problem was. What the part number was that broke, my name and address. An told me parts will be shipped today....I did ask him if there were updated axels or CVD's in the works. An all he said was, that there were enough complaints to start working on something better. An that was all he said, so with that being said hopefully we will see some better CVD's pretty soon....

The first time i saw how small the axles were i cringed, remind me of 1/10th axles, even the bearings are puny.Every time i'm on the track i worry i'm gonna break them if i land wrong.my 1/8th scale buggies have bigger axles & bearings than this truck does and i want to upgrade them before i put bigger tires on it.

Good luck guys

I would take CVD problems over my engine problems. If there needs to be problems feel lucky youhave that as your problem. You know Losi is all over this issue and so are the after market parts people. Be patient and keep a couple on stock for now.
