Thanks for the message there Brendan. You are fine using the 125 int F90. I'll be sure and educate the sales staff on that point.

Thanks Mike! I look forward to getting the F90 in the air with the 125! If you have the time one more question please:

In the Horizon F90 service bulletin Horizon recomends: "The large size of the ā€œ3Dā€ control surfaces requires powerful servos. The servos used must be 50 ounce inch torque or greater."

Do you think Hitec 5945MG's for the flight controls is overkill?

5945 specs:

Maximum Output

Torque:
181 oz-in.

Speed:
0.13 Sec/60 Degrees

Thanks again,

Brendan Taff

P.S. It awesome to have you in in this forum answering questions!

Those specs look like way more than enough, but it'll certainly work. I assume the MG meas metal geats.I would go with metal gears at least on ailerons ifd you are running 3D throws.

I'm happy to have the opportunity to be here to help.

Mike,

With your new H9 designs can you please give some extra consideration to electric power? In particular, I find modifying ARFS to have battery hatches to be a hassle. I'd like to see your planes designed with top a access hatch for easy battery changes and maybe even include parts for a battery tray.

Thanks for listening.

I'd love to see a 35% Extra 300 designed around the DA 100. Covered in your yellow TOC scheme. With removable tail surfaces.

how about a 82 or 125 saito size sukhoi 31 wuth exagerated funtana style wing ( keep the tips rounded though) with a catchy black red yellow color scheme put wing more near center of fuse ( yak style ) maybe even a 2 position wing

oh yeah and desing an on board adustable center of gravity tuner using wieght (battery) try to make as uneversal as possible you guys should do it before your buddies across the gp

profile that an evo 46 flies extreme would be easy to sell

also from a hobby shop owner your1/4 scale super cub gets lots of requests

nice extra or something designed around evo 58 making a good size plane for the$$

Mike, care to comment on which ones you have seen that actually are done right?

It is a very popular segment right now (50cc) and the Yak is a very popular plane design.

The majority of threads are from people mourning that EF has discontinued both their models.

I am looking at geting this bird right now for my DA-50 and the hoices are:

Lanier 87' (that new series of theirs looks real good)
Aeroworks Yak QB (84')
New Wild Hare Yak (80')
QQ Yak (85') - probably too expensive
Goldberg - too small

Thanks.

IMO the Yak 54 is done a lot, but there are only a few that I've seen that are really done right. Kinda likr Extra's.

I havent seen any of those fly. I have no doubt that the QQ Yak will be excellent. If I were to choose from that list, I'd go with the QQ Yak.

Is the H9 Extra 260 smaller than you want for a DA-50?

TOC aviation and Aerotech also have 50 cc yaks.

Although I am not a product forcaster I forsee a 36ish percent plane for that cool looking 116. What will it be?

300, 330, 260, 230, Katana, Edge, Sukhoi 26/31, Yak54/55SP, Ultimate, Cap, Velox, Laser, Giles, Pitts, MX2, Zlin, Rebel 200, Staudacher, or?

I however vote for a 85" Funtana for For a DA50/Evo45

Hey Mike, from a fellow who has flown both the edge and the extra in competition, which would you say is the better between the two 33's H9 is currently offering? I want it primarily for 3D however I do not wish to dial alot of bad habits out. IE pitch coupling in knife edge flight. I have rescently flown the new H9 260 and loved it's performance with a moki 210. 1/4 throtttle knife edge all day long with no correcting! I was impressed. I love the scheme of the extra 330 but have always liked the aggresive lines of the edge. What do you say to making an extra 260 in a 33% version with maybe a colour scheme like the 46% ultimate. The 260 seems like a good meld of the two.

Anyways back to the main question:

Extra 330 or edege 540 . I have heard that the 330 is a much better all round flier with no bad tendancies. Your opinion would be of great value.

Thanks

Mark

Both have very little pitch or roll coupling. The Edge is better for 3D. In the case of the H9 Extra vs H9 Edge, both is similar for precision. Overall, I'd go with the Edge.
