Has anybody used the Ultracote checkerboard covering that is available?

I have a roll of the yellow/black with 1" squares and was wondering how it goes for shrinking and keeping the lines/squares straight.

Any comments?

I saw this posted on the newsgroup before and the general concensus was that even after shrinking the lines were straight. I imagine if you really hit it with the heat gun you could get some waves though.

I have also now heard that it generally shrinks OK. I just have to do the extra work to line up the squares with the ailerons and elevators with the bottom of the wing and stab.

I will be trying this out soon on a Sig Somethin' Extra.

I will post back the results.

Noope, you can't get any waves with this stuff - squares do not change size or shape...no matter what!!!! Great Stuff....try it, you'll like it.

Glad to hear this stuff is good! I bought a roll of it without knowing and at $22 isn't on the cheap side, so I wouldn't want to have to throw it out.

I'm glad I have heard some good reports. I think my Somethin' Extra is going to look cool with the yellow/black 1" squares under the wing and stab.
