The last time I was out, I think I said....

"Something fell off...something fell off...what is that thing" as I watch a piece of something fall off the plane and make its way to the ground shortly before the plane did.

Turns out it was a large piece of black monocote that came off the elevator. Apparently an elevator only works when its more than sticks and glue.

My first landing/crash with my Firebird Freedom:

*grimace*"Oooohhhh... ouch."
*pause* "Uh... it's on the ground! In one piece! I did it! I landed! WOOT!"

Walk over calmly, bend the gear back into shape, five second preflight to make sure the v-tail's really in one piece, then a toss back into the air.

The worst crash i had was "This is my last flight of the day" Five minutes later the plane was down

i didnt think the tree was that close and i didnt think my plane was that far! just happened this weekend......the ONLY tree on 55 acres of flying field. just my luck...... check out my buddy who scaled the tree like a cheetah- where he is is where it was......

i couldnt have hit it again if i tried!!!

Happened just yesterday to me a few weeks after my solo...

"what the hell? no no no NO NO NO!!!! [[[THUD]]] $#!^ "

then as someone pulls up after being alone with my sorrows, "you missed the fireworks!!!"

But it wasnt that bad!!! It will be flying again next weekend!

I crashed one over the weekend.

I've come to realize that I always tell myself the same thing right after it impacts the ground. I say "It's OK, it's fixable"

Needless to say, it's usually wishful thinking.
