but if you looked, here are my immediate thoughts.

Im impress with this trucks specs, explains my interest, but Im finding it has a couple severe problems that Cen is trying to correct but IMO handling very poooooooooooooorly. I can relate with most when they say they spent $550+ to LOOK at a MODEL RC and feel like they have been used for nothing more than unsuspecting test dummies.

I've read about the Cen Gen having an extremely hard time shifting into third, and some engines are blowing the rear crank bearing, along with weak spurs and diff gears (explaination- not heat treated properly?), advertising one thing but delivering another (QA failure or fraud?). I also read how the actual drive line gets "hot" with no apparent explaination (bearing failure??) but Im not here to drudge up the past but look to the future and ask this.
Is it possible the engine is screaming for third gear but not getting it, allowing the engine to over rev severely causing this bearing to fail?
I want that engine at least if it is just a gearing problem and I do hope Cen can work the bugs out on that beast, maybe then I'll reconsider it.

Well if you feel it aint worth it, then why bother to post? I love mine and have no problem with it. U gotta remember though, Forums are for immature kids to **** / whin online. same group of people post the same **** everyday so it sound like everyone have problem. Less than 3ppl on this board actually own the damn truck right now. Most of the ppl ****ing dont even have the ****ing trucks right now and they **** and complaint like they drove one.

Thought I made that clear but here goes again.

Im in no way dissing it, I want it to work as advertised as I did comment earlier.

Ive seen blown engine rear crank bearings a few times from different people on this board and a one other in another forum, so if only three people actually own one here, the odds say it has a problem in my book and I thought I'd ask that question since JUST MAYBE, no one has put the two problems, 3rd gear not engaging and the blown engine bearings together to POSSIBLY explain the engine bearing failure that could be avoided had third gear engaged properly.
Thats all I intended, dont cuss at me for only trying to help figure out the problem/s before buying the 46 engine.

Guess what answer i got when i called Losi about LST engine issue i read on this board. They told me the same thing. Dont worry about what forums said cuz its just a place for ppl to complaint and whine. 99% of Happy owners wont bother to post on there.

i wasnt cussing at you. I was trying to say that cuz forums are mainly for people to ****/complaint and are very very brand biased. Like i said, less than 5 ppl own the damn truck and majority of memebers just posting like they own one (dont even know why they bother), but in fact, they dont. If you say gen have problems, then you should search for Revo or LST, adn you will get pretty much the same thing.

My genesis shift to 3rd and havent blown up a engie yet. I have no issues so far other than Drive cup seems to wear out faster than it should but i can live with that. Plus i really dont like the radio looks. thats about it

but nice theory on the engine issue though. Gotta give you credit for that.

Considering the weight and power of the Gen, the drive cups will get tortured but thats typical wear IMO. Are the Shafts as durable as the pictures/advertising make them out to be? They look nearly indestructable.

I've been digging deeper into the Gen and Im liking what I see but not what many are saying, but as you pointed out, most satisfied people wont bother to post because they are out playing
Maybe I'll just buy it anyhow (got one in my LHS) since I only want it for certain parts and I can sell off the remaining stuff to recoup some of the cost.
The only thing that concerns me is the fact I will be buying a "first batch" after the 7/15 (?) cut off so would I qualify for this "care package"?

first ive personally talked to people on this forum and more than 5 people own the genesis here.Second sure a lot of owners dont post some might not even have internet.I loved the truck while it ran but i dont consider me whining when i post about the truck.I post to see if im the only one with problem and possibly if someone has a solution.IM sure losi and Cen claim "Ya just complainers post on forums"what did you expect them to say"Ya we screwed up and everyone knows were sorry here is some money back"?.The care package was a good idea and i guess you either got a second batch truck or you got the care package?I sent my truck to Cen over a month ago to have package installed and my engine inspected. The main gripe here is wrong dates wrong info etc.Im glad your genesis runs well but if mine did i wouldnt have negative things to say about those less fortunate.Just a little recap of my"****ING WHINING EXPERIENCE.TRuck fail safe goes crazy and strips all the gears while truck isnt even broke in yet.CEN sent knew gears during break in again fail safe acts up again gears broken.Called Cen they sent new gears right out. Finally unhooking the failsafe i get truck broken in and drive for a total of hour before both front and rear wheel axles break.CEn sends some new ones. Finally after more gears and axles im told a care package will fix the problems and my truck was improperly shimmed from factory.I send truck in and have been waiting eagerly.I am not mad about the things that happend but i will not STOP "WHining".I feel people should know of my experience and if im of a small group so be it.IF i mistook your post as that im a CEN hater (WHich im not) i apologize.I love the truck but its the most expensive dust collector ive ever owned. I look forward to your reply

thanks

Tom, I gather that post is for Hands cause I fully understand your grief. I have a few trailer queens (good for nothing but show/display) myself, thats why Im here, doing research before I buy another "static" RC.

What about this Tom,,,
quote:

JUST MAYBE, no one has put the two problems, 3rd gear not engaging and the blown engine bearings together to POSSIBLY explain the engine bearing failure that could be avoided had third gear engaged properly.

,,,,can these two problems be directly related?

People, Im after information plain and simple. Im not looking to start fires (enough all ready) or rehash whats already been said. Lets all please just concentrate on fixing the problem/s so the Cen Gen will be as impressive out bashing as it is sitting on a shelf.

Also, is there an online source for a schematic break down of the Cen Gen?
I'd like to get a list of parts I want to get some prices on buying just what I need instead of the whole truck.

Heres what Im after.

Front/Rear suspension (complete) minus shocks, shock towers, tires and wheels. To include diffs, drive shafts, skids, bulkheads (if applicable), and a complete front steering assembly.

Tranny turn key, complete with driveshafts and brake assemble.

Engine NIP. Also need mounts, exhaust header, pipe, and entire clutch assembly.

I know its wishful thinking but is anyone wanting to part there new Gen out? If your looking to get out from under it, thats the way to go IMO. You'll likely make a small profit in the process.
