If anyone has come accross this problem, let me know. I have richened the mixture to a point where the plane barely flys and it still surges. I have leaned out the fuel mixture to the point where the engine leans out in flight. After doing these with the fuel setting, I noticed air bubbles in the fuel line going from the pump discharge side to the carb. Not only at hight speeds, but at low speeds also. I changed the fuel tubeing and still have air. I tied the fuel tubeing with small stainless steel wire at the pump and the carb, but still I get air bubbles.....

Thanks, Larry

Ask in the YS engine forum. They are more likely to have run across this problem before.

Yes the YS engine forum has lots of information. Just ask Dave, although he is going to be out of town for a week. If you are pressed for time give Rich a call at YS performace, he is a miracle worker at helping out over the phone. In the mean time Bubbles in the fuel line as you describe are normal. They were there before you moved the settings as well as after. You have not given enough information to be helpfull. When you post in the ys section or call Rich have this information ready. Has th engine ever ran good or is it new out of the box. Fuel type and nitro percentage. YS needs good fuel such as a YS 20/20 blend. State prop used. Glow plug used. Is the tank holding pressure. Can you duplicate the problem on the ground. It will be helpfull to know what adjustments you are making. YS has three adjustments Low end for under 2,000 rpm, regulator for midrange, and the high speed needle for high end. I would start by cleaning the regulator completly. More problems are caused by crap in the requlator than any thing elese. With perhaps the exception of bad tunning. If everything is clean and your Plumbing does not leak, go to http://www.ysperformance.com under the instructions tab there is real good information. Set the low end and the reg and the high end back to factory settings and go from there. Remember the low end screw turns opposite. Left to lean. If that does not help and you do not want to wait for Dave, give rich a call.
