Will a Futaba buddy trainer cord work between a Flash 5 and a Flash 4?

I ask, because the local hobby shop sold me a Futaba cord and told me that it was compatible. Now when I'm trying to setup the buddy box for my girlfriends Kadet LT-40, I'm not getting the correct throws when I switch over to the buddy box.

Would the Futaba cord be causing this problem?

Also, I'm noticing that when I plug the cord into the "slave" or secondary transmitter (Flash 4), even though its off, the LCD screen shows voltage, as if it were on. I think its also transmitting, even though its on a different chanel.

thanks for any insight you can give me Mike,

Tom

Found the answer, man you got to be tired of answering this one.

You wrote as an answer to someone else,

"You should always use the Hitec cord when connecting a Hitec radio to either another Hitec or Futaba to ensure you have no problems. There have been some reported smoke letting problems when using the Futaba cord so you should not risk it. Also the slave will emit a signal if it has a crystal.

Mike.
