Hi Mike,

I've been using your 555 in my electrics w/o problems over 1000's of flights. I've been happy with them until recently, when I installed one in my 40 sized glow plane. Since it is dual conversion, the guy at the store said it should be ok, and I had one lying about I decided to give it a try. All seemed well, but every now and then I'd get an intermittent "glitch", which couldn't be traced to anything. Finally, I jiggled the connectors at the RX, and found that I could get each channel to jitter, by pushing side to side, or foward and back. The same servos would not jitter in a Futaba RX using the same method. On comparison with a Futaba RX, the pins on the 555 seem slightly less thick, shorter and case around connectors is lower, allowing more freedom of movement.

So, the question I would like to ask is does Hitec recommend using the 555 for glow applications?

Thanks!

BTW the RX was always wrapped with plenty of foam, due to its small size.

The 555 is perfectly fine for use in gas planes.

However, if you wiggle the connectors and get jittering then there may be a problem. In which case it would be wise to send it in and let us check it out.

Mike.
