Just wondering if anyone has used this yet on their LST. My clutch springs broke after about 1 gallon of fuel. I decided to try the sliding clutch as opposed to the mugen 3 clutch that I usually run on my trucks. Gonna fix my broken shaft and put in my nerw spurs, cb gears and then try out this new sliding clutch.

If anyone has used it before there is a big washer that is in the package, does it go between the shoes and CB or flywheel and cutch shoes???

thanks

you got a link or a pic of that setup

2 of my springs broke after 1/2 a gallon, oh well, i have some ofna ones to try and another set of stock ones when they give up, no big deal, i think it's part of it

i might try a small rubber o-ring around them like i had on my 1/10

goes between the shoes and cb.. issue you will have.. found this trying to fit a savage flywheel to my lst.. unless you can bring the engine towards the pipe side of the truck the cb is going to hit the spurs...

I bought it at my LHS. You can find one on Ebay too. I did a search and there was a nice complete set there too.
Heres some pics of the parts put together. I put the 3 springs on it but might be running only 2 because it is gonna rev too high and then engage like a bat outta hell. If you want a smoother engagement they recommend going with the teflon shoes. The carbon ones grip like a witches bottom to a broom stick, hehe

Well I just finished my clutch install. Everything was pretty straight forward. Ran into one problem and that was that the CB was rubbing on the spur gear. I shimmed it out a bit and now it looks just right. Also fixed my snapped shock shaft. I will hopefully get it out tmrw and try it out and see how this clutch works

The last pic is of a bottle of sock oil. It was full and after 2 shocks about 1/4 left. So you will be needing 2 bottles to do all 4

Ronz,
Did you have to do any mod to the chassis bottom like enlarge the flywheel opening? I like this style clutch and bought one like it from GPM with aluminum shoes. It was real nice but the flywheel was to big to fit in the opening. So now my BROINLAW got a free clutch for his MAMMOTH!! BAST#$D!!! LOL

Capt. D-bol no I didnt have to do any mods to the chassis to fit it into the truck. The opening is just fine for it to fit. The only problem was with my CB wheel touching the 2nd speed spur. I took my spur out and put alittle shim in there and now it is just fine. Besides that the install was pretty straight forward and easy.

Heres a pic of my sad stock clutch springs and the sliding clutch
