A plane that size I could imagine the amount of matinence and pre flight checking one would have to do. Hope he comes out with another cool project like the 52.

Guys...

Just come back from a return trip to the British Nationals, Went Saturday & Again today, The guys on the Trade stands and hence in the know, informed us that The B-52 took off, then approx 45 seconds into flight, turned at an angle of about 30 degrees, downwind, (quite windy 20 to 25 Knts) stalled on the turn and dropped straight in nose first. Five of the eight turbines are said to be totaled, three looked like flattened soft drink cans...Debris was scattered over a fair area. The point of impact was said to be approx 20 Yards from a farmhouse.

Edit to add video of crash...

Right click and "Save Target As" and just download it.

Just saw the video...MAN!! That made me sick, but why where they flying is such windy conditions? You could clearly hear the wind gusting through the camera...What a shame.....

Wow,
That was a heartwrenching video to watch. I know it's only a model...but it kinda was like watching the real thing go in (after all on board had safely ejected of course :-) It's amazing that so much work and so much time by so many, can be erased in such a small instance.
My heart goes out to those who were involved in this fantastic project. Hopefully they satisfied their photo/video needs in previous flights, etc.

Download the link to you harddrive people, then open with Quicktime. Free QT Player for both PC and Mac avail. at www.apple.com
