I have a Nitro Hammer that i enjoy running but i have a question about floatation, the Hammer has none. I have had the boat upside down a couple of times during trimming and no problems. Seemed to trap air inside, I have since installed an auto bailer and believe this will let the boat take on water quickly if upside down. is sealing the front bulkhead enough to keep the boat afloat or should I add some floatation? I have read about some people trying the spray foam with bad results, ie too much expansion, deck/hull separation ect. What works best. thanks

i would add some flotation stuff. never use the expandable foam.

i dont know if the autobailer will let water come it.

seal the front and put some foam on the sides. a noodle works good for foam. It doesn't take much to keep it a float.

i heard that you can tape a empty bottle inside your boat and with the top on tight so no water can get in. so its just a big air pocket.

on my NH, where the tuned pipe connects with the engine, there is exost coming out. does this mean i need a new muffler gasket?

RG501,

I experienced the same thing. Those 2 screws have a bad habit of vibrating loose. I did have to replace the header gasket, there wasn't much there at all. You can get a pack of 5 for $2.39 here:

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/WTI0095P?FVSEARCH=HPIG0875&FVPROFIL=++&search3=Go

After you replace that, get some Loctit Threadlock for those screws before you assemble it. It will hold up well. It will also increase performance because, it's defeating the purpose of the pipe with the gap there. good luck

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, you'll have to slap some silicone on both sides of the gasket too. Also, don't use the permanent high strength threadlock (the blue) you'll have to cut it apart if you ever want to change the header. I used the low/medium strength (the clear), that's strong enough and I can disassemble it if I need too.

I got it at Menard's (hardware store). Medium will probably work too, just don't use high strength. It will say on the back of the package if it's permanent or not.
