Hello Ashleyhall! That's a great snippet of video, I particularly like the commentary! I use a similar setup (ebay 2.4 camera etc) but power the camera from the flight battery....I didn't think the Challenger would lift the battery as well....just goes to show. Where did you get the USB converter from? How much did it cost? It would certainly be easier to bring along the lap-top rather than have an intermediate analogue tape transfer (which also loses quite a bit of quality).

It's good to see there are like-minded people in the UK having as much fun as I am!....Tim....

Thanks mate, much appreciated - yeah its a great setup, the USB adapter was from PC World, infact it was on the clearance pile, originally £50, got it for around £30 I think.

I'm using an Xtreme, it easily lifts the 9v and camera without effort, handles the same too! I've found that the key to high resolution video is the receiver's power source, use a normal heavy duty battery or 9v for that and it'll give minimal reception, I hook it up to my car's battery, its perfect then!

Post your videos here, would love to see them!

I make car batteries and we get one free one a year so I use that to power my setup. I've found that even power adapters you plug in will generate a bit of interference sometimes and the car battery gives undiluted voltage without all the noise. I also use it to power my tv/vcr combo that runs on 12 volt, so I can take it where ever I go. I like to put my camera up at funflies and you can't always get close enough to the flight line with the truck and trailer and the receiver of these things is very sensetive to it's environment and signals reflect off things. This way I can get my receiver away from any ground clutter and obstacles.

Unfortunately I don't have the means to transfer video to the web, but skycam has graciously offered to take my video tape and post one for you all to see. He should have the cassette by now so it won't be a lot longer.

ha ha... yes, it is Branson behind Wal-Mart. Believe it or not there is a pretty nice area to fly behind wally world. I'm tempted to take
the Aerobird up even higher, but wonder if I'll lose it. I wonder if anyone makes any glasses that you could put on that would magnify your viewing area by about 2x so you could see what direction your plane is going?

Here's some I'm thinking of buying. 4X power. $69.95 ?

Just got my F27 stryker, I designed my mini camera module to plug into the 'combat module' part of the Aerobird/Stryker, so my camera will fit straight to it! Hoping to get some footage later today...

Watch this space!
