the aileron Torque rods are rather chintzy for a plane of this size and speed.... the sloppy rudder caused the plane to fishtail badly at speed...this plane is impressive, but I believe they designed 40 size controls for a 60-90 size plane...

That's a good picture of the top side. I also made a set of sidewinders but were too late for the picture. I made a little mount which is epoxied to the missle. On the back of the mount is velcro which i attach to the wing edge. I am hoping this will hold up.

Since i have this plane, I guess I can criticize. I was fooling around with the canopy. This is the most stupid looking thing and is no way going on my plane. The front of it looks like something off and "Extra." *Soooooooooh, I went sniffing around the store. I think I found somthing which may work. It will only cost me about $6 to try but looks good eyeballing it and still fit to the original cockpit area and look more sleak than this thing. *I'll play with it this weekend and let you guys know if your interested.

Yeah...let's see the new canopy...wer'e open for help... AirGar's melted 2 weeks ago, after sitting in the sun for 5 mins. ( He's still ticked off ).
Here's mine....It's the "cyclops" 2001 Space Odyessy version. : bashed from a Quick-built Chipmunk kit that I junked.
The good news is I got 4 flights on mine Sunday, and no flutter.
The bad news is...I still have more "black" crud commin' out of the exhaust than I have ever seen....about 15 flights or so, with no let-up. Each flight (Sunday) was full throttle...full peak...till it ran out. I don't like engines over .60...ABC. This one is a Tower .75, and I will say that it idles like my car...has good trans., but will NOT BREAK IN . I propped her down to a 11 7-5 airscrew today...gonna give it a chance....and see.
Talk later...Dave...

Well in that case I'll drop a hint. Sig sells a a bunch of different generic and warbird canopys. I was looking at a large generic warbird canopy. It is just about as wide as the cermark. Length is okay too. I am going to attempt to use the back of the warbird canopy as the front for the cermark. Cutting the back part off the warbird will give it a more sleak angle and more realistic. Eyeballing it looks like its worth the try.
*MELTING CANOPY. We've had that happen here. Take a pin or somethng similar, Heat it up and stick it in the top rear part of the canopy to allow the hot air to escape. It helps.

Look in this forum, under Patriot Drivers... Look at the elevator mod... I'm the guy who's F-20 crashed on the first flight when the elevator servo came loose. The epoxyed mount simply tore loose, with the "skin" of the balsa with it.
AirGar's my flyin' bud.

You could "glass" some wood mounts onto the stab. I would epoxy, and glass the servo in as well. 4 screws from the under-side wouldn't hurt. We used Cirrus CS-60 metal geared, BB servos. They have a little more torque than standards Use #4 rod for the linkage, not the flexy 2-56.
Add more hinges everywhere. Tape all the hinge-lines.

It took me two weeks to put a whole new nose on the plane...from the wing saddle up... Plus putting a new crankcase on the motor... and lost the reciever...
The good news was...I put a proper tank in it... Dave.

I remember Airgar telling me about your elevator serve when I startefd assmebling mine. I have that thing epoxied to the stab and then ran a separate piece of glass around it. I think if i drive that thing straight to the ground. One of the million pieces will show my servo still attached to that stab. I am curious on the Aileron flutter. Could it be a weak servo not holding up to the pressure? I Installed a 70oz for my aileron.
I would like to ask all you what hinging your using if you don't mind? Thanks.

I'm using the stock CA hinges...with full lengh mono-cote strips both sides on the ailerons. The rudder is locked straight. next time...I'll add more hinges.
I'm using a Tower Hobbies low profile, high torque aileron servo. The strength is 61.6 OZ.... it's a TS-59.
