i'd try a 14x6 k series or apc wide blade or a 15x4 apc wide blade. also depends on what the airplane is, so what is it?

Thanks for your help Ben. Its a Edge 540 40 size airplane so expect this light 4 stroke will render good power/weight ratio for 3d stuff. I actually have already the 14x6 KS but will consider others after maiden flight to test best 3D performance

Thanks again

Thanks Plane Piza,

I have about 6 tanks (40mins) on the engine already on a stand. Do have the 14x4W apc available also so will try both. Maybe the 14x4w first.

Thx

I like a Zinger 14X5 on the 82a with my UCD 46. Have tried APC 14X4 and 15X4 and Zinger 14X6. Find the engine runs hot on 15X4 and 14X6 on hot days. Would run erratic when hot, think it was vapor-lock. Dosen't miss a beat on 14X5.

I switched from a .72 to an .82. The 14x4W is not enough prop. Mine is on a Funtana. With the needle on the rich side it will swing the 14x4W APC at 10,600 on 15%. Thats way to much IMHO. I have a 15x4W and a 14x6 on the way. I am flying that way but using throttle mgmt.

prophanger, You got me. Have you adjusted your valves? I am using the old muffler but it cant be that much difference. I tested mine on a 85degree day. Our ALT is 2,000ASL. Humidity was about 30%.

yes everything checked out fine. when new for about 3 tanks it spit black goo out the vent but never sounded weird. I'm 863 feet about sea level about 70 degree when i run it in humidity around 60%. maybe its something in the air my 100 blowed chunks yesterday to I'll try some new fuel. never blowed up a glow engine before

Zorka. I use the "standard" 14X5 Zingers, not pro. Have not tried pro on this engine. The APC 14X4 and 15X4 I tried were wide. When propped with APC 15X4W, ran great, pulled great for several flights. then started to run lean. Landed, could not open high-speed needle enuf to get slightly rich or peak run. Smaller prop fixed this immediately. Larger prop may work OK for me in cooler weather.

use bigger than 14x4... that was a great prop for my .72, but using it on the newer bigger .82 is a little much.
