Status: offline 		Well, I finally maidened mine this weekend. It was awsome! It is all that i expected and more. This plane flys wonderfully. Even when you cut the power, it continues to fly in a glide and not drop out of the sky like so many foam planes. It will fly fast yet very slooooooow. Landings are a breeze due to fact that it excells at high alpha. I will post pictures soon. My set up is as follows:

Highmax 20-15 5400 motor
C-Drive
Castle Creations Brushless 25a controll
Apogee 1570 3-cell lipo
8X6 E prop turning around 9000 on the ground

Status: offline 		I am new to all this high tech electric so don't laugh but, i had a friend check my lipo after a flight to see how it was doing. 162 after about a 10 min run at all kinds of throttle settings and some mild aerobatics like loops and inverted passes both in high alpha and fast. Now won't the 9X7 load it up more and heat things up worse? I flew 8 minute flights with less full throttle vertical and had only about 150 degrees or so. Some one told me to stay under 170. My DuraLites never get hot in the big stuff just running servos so, managing the heat is new to me. Would a 9X7 SF be better than the E prop for this application? Thanks for the help. I will do some more reserch on all this as well.

Status: online 		I run a 9X7 all the time with my Tx timer set to 10 min. Like you I go all over the place with the throttle and have not hurt my Kokam 11.1v 1500 yet, and it is one of the older ones, not the new 20c jobs. At wot my amp meter shows it will pull around 18a. Yes that is an over draw but I don't go wot all the time and it seems to be ok for extended bursts.

Status: offline 		Something strange in MotoCalc. I entered a Highmax 20-15 5400 motor in place of the MegaMotor I use in my F22 setup and the max amp went DOWN by 2 amps going from a 8x6 to 9x7 prop. That doesn't make any sense to me??? When I replace the HighMax back with the Mega the amps go up, as I would expect, when the prop size increases. Am I missing something here with MotoCalc showing less amps being pulled when using a larger prop on the Highmax?

Status: offline 		Hi Vic and RAM3500,
APC does not make a 9x7E. They make a 9x6E and 9x7.5E. The 9x7 APC is a sport prop. I tried a couple of the sport props on my electrics and the performance seemed to decrease compared to using the thin electric props.

Status: offline 		Thanks guys. Sounds like i will play with a 9X6 or 7 and see what it does. Has anyone done any venting in the front for the battery? I have been looking at trying to get some flow through for cooling the battery.

Status: online 		3DF Kits have a NASA style inlet in the nose but I have never experienced a problem or need. On one of my planes I used a wide pc of epp to hold the batt in place and it seemed to get a little warmer than previous versions and since I only use a piece about 1/2 wide without concern.
