What happened to this thread? Was it something I said? It was the most relevant discussion this form has had this year. Can't we disagree with out censorship? Just when Q500 has shown some recent growth - this is not good. :disappoin

I've noticed other threads are missing also. What's up? I use this RC Universe Forum as my primary Pylon information source. Why do some threads stay and some go?

The starter of the thread deleted it. He also deleted other threads he started and many of his messages. It is unfortunate because there was useful information and discussion in those threads and messages.

However, if the info about skinned hinges and other stuff needs to be repeated, I can remember most most of it. I have some of the threads printed out and/or saved to local files.

I've added a new thread that is about the same topic that the AMA Magazine-Pylon thread had turned into. As I remember, quite a few of you disagree with the opinion that I had posted, so let's talk about it some more.

And let's kick it up a notch.

Even with a poster removing their original post! Shouldn't the poster still have access to their post's in their personal archives?
Or does RC Universe have a common database that if the poster removes the original article topic the whole thread is lost?

I agree that there is certain information that should never get removed, as the articles have very valuable data available for all levels of modeling.

Jack,

I'm not sure that a non-moderator member can remove a thread that other people have posted to. However, the thread was deleted by a moderator other than myself or mluvara. Moderators can remove entire threads, rename them, split them, etc. I've been a moderator so long that I've forgotten just what capabilities regular users have.

As to the backup and restore portion of vBulletin, I'm not sure of it's capabilities.

By the way, Mluvara and myself are the moderators for the forum now. Michael has not made any thread modifications, and I rarely have.

Don;
It's just strange that good threads are lost for no apparent rhime or reason. I'll check some of my personal posts on threads that have been removed. But I think RCUniverse uses a Common database so if the Main is removed then all the postings within the thtread are lost.
