Hope that's not a ST61 on the nose of your bird. Cause I have one on mine and I am very unhappy with it. I'm going to replace it with a SK 70. These engines are very nice and will turn an even bigger prop that what a regular 90 would turn. But its your plane and I hope that everything goes OK for you. Mine would drop the nose on a steep turn unless I added a lot of opposite rudder to keep it up.

hello nchrome the engine that i have in my SU is a super tigre .90 i only do the break in alredy in other of my plane is brand new and i hope its work great , in this moment after 5 flights of that engine is working good thanks

Very nice!

I noticed that the tailcones are not on yet. Are you leaving them stock, or sanding them so that look more smoother than the square laser look?

saludos jonathan

Hi guys,
I've been reading the thread from page 1 and decided to build one myself. Will build according to instructions with the exception of epoxy bearing on the lower fin for the rudder torque rods. I won't bore you with the construction pictures, as you all have seen them all. I will post pics of the finished aircraft.

Rick,

This is an awesome aircraft. Good luck on the build. I do have one other suggestion on the mods since I have seen two of these and both were afflicted with the same issue. The 4-40 rod on the elevators allows too much flex and will cause a violent flutter. If you change out the 4-40 rod on the elevators for 1/8" music wire this issue goes away and its not too difficult to accomplish. I described a method for doing this a couple of pages back.

Anyhow its very well designed, looks good, and flies even better.

Robert

Robert,
I'm way past the point of fixing the torque rod as the fuselage is almost done and I'm moving on to the wings. I'll take a chance on this. I might beef up the whole stab assembly with carbon fiber rods, and will seal the hinge gaps for sure.

This is a great kit. All the parts fit well. I may get a second one.

Well, here she is, ready to cover. I took Robert's advice and removed/replaced the stock 4-40 elevator torque rods with Dubro's heavy duty torque rod (#558). Seems to be strong enough to eliminate flex.

Power will be OS 91. Futaba radio gear, Robart retracts/struts. Right now I'm still debating on the paint scheme.
