If you took two 8.4 volt 1000 mamp battery packs and attached them to a Y harness to the ESC what would that give you?

8.4 volt 2000 mampS
or
16.8 volt 2000 mamps? (wrong I think)

seems that using this approach you could also get a higher amperage draw too for the larger motors while still using the small packs..... could use lithium packs with large motors

just wondering

You will get the sum of the capacity of the individual packs.

Yep, you would be running in parallel, thus no change in voltage.

If in parallel add the amperage or capacity. If in series add the voltage.
