Im ready to build a crawler but I want as scale as possible while also remaining functional as an R\C (scale doesn't always work in r/c)
so I'm looking to the twin force as a starting point...I would like to get rid of the plastic links setup they have and mabey go to a four link with a panhard bar or a 2 link lower and a triangulated upper link setup. and use a smaller wheel and tire seup (like the HPI geolanders in 2.2 size) and use the HPI rubicon body...with a little adjustign and tinkering I hope to make it look like jeep with fullsize running gear under it...has anyone here used the twin force or had any experience with it?

I used twin force parts to make a crawler, and the worst thing is the drive shafts between the tranny and the axles, I had to make my own sliding shafts. I also geared it down using 48p spur/ pinion 96t spur / 12t pinion. Overall it works great for me but, I never had any other crawler to compare it with.

If you want a scale crawler, twin force axles are going to be way too wide for a 1/10 or 1/8 scale body. TLT-1 axles are just the right width for a scale crawler using standrd lexan bodies. You could buy a 1/6 or 1/5 scale lexan truck body and run Twin axles under that.

Many people crawl with twin force axles- go check out a serious crawler forum like www.rccrawler.com or Clodtalk.com.

Oh, I forgot to mention that using 2.2" wheels and tires on TF axles would be similar scale-wise to running go-kart tires on a Dana 60! The axle would get hung up on everything. You'd be much happier with larger tires, say LST or MGT tires.
