Nhill, All you need is to start it is a pullstart and a glow starter. you need a glow plug to put in the engine head, fuel, and a small screw driver to adjust the settings. And i would put new batteries in the controller and truck to be on the safe side.

i have my pull start for my rustler. what else do i need for the pull start to make it work on the engine if there is anything. on the tower website they was talking about a one way bearing or something like that. do i need one of those for the pull start ?

I've never liked pull starters. I take them off and use my hand starter (which turns the flywheel). When you by a pull starter, does it not come with the one-way bearing? I dunno cause I won't buy one.

You should have one of these in the pull start: www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXJL63&P=7

If not, search for "one-way" or "one-way bearing" on Tower.

I honestly don't know. But, I'm guessing not. Do you know which engine you have?

It couldn't hurt to treat it like a new engine. Best thing to do is find the manual for it on the internet, or call Traxxas for it. The manual should tell you everything you need to know.

i am not sure where you could find how to brake it in but the best way is where you hook the fuel line to the carb that needle turn itclock wise until you cant turn it no more. then turn it out 2 1/2 turns out. then run about 4-6 tanks out and then start turning it clockwise again just a little. little by little you shoudl do that until you think your truck runs great. also make sure that it dosnt over heat. what i mean is if you have a emp gauge use it. but if yu dont make sure there no smoke coming from the glow plug area. also when you tuned your truck out when it drives make sue you have blue smoke coming from the exhaust. after you do that enjoy your truck
