That looks great! Does it take off skywards when you give it full throttle like the Cessna?

Hey sporn that looks fantastic. Much improved from the plain white cowl I saw on the Focus thread. Did you paint the cowl by hand, following the stripes on the fuse?

Thanks Bruce!
I spray-painted the cowl in red after taping it to leave the white stripe. Then I placed the black and red factory stickers on the white stripe.
The wheel pants I painted by hand.

Had my best flight ever Was so pumped my hands were shaking!! Thought to myself "Im finally getting the hang of this, lets have another go". 5 mins later I got bounced by a squadron of enemy Cockatoos, 12 in all! Who were very persistent in demonstrating that the sky was THEIRS! BAS#@*DS!! . Im quickly running out of foam to epoxy! Im taking a camera next time, maybe somebody will recognize the Cocky's from the video

Does anyone know if there is a good step up plane(intermediate flyer) to the Cessna, preferably just a foam fuse, wing and tailfeathers, something that likes to go faster. I have been looking at the Sapac Red Arrow EDF but I think I have a lot more learning to do before I step up to that. Thanks

Gronsta,
How comes you let your plane being chased by birds? Usually I'm the one chasing them. Maybe you need more power!

if your talking about a step up from the cessna, my cousin went easily from a 4ch cessna with tp 2409-12 motor to a brushless stryker. for the money its a great plane. fairly fast, quite stable, responsive and tough as old boots.
i went from the cessna to a multiplex gemini and found it easy enough, could have gone straight to an acromaster as well. don't think my funjet would have survived the transition though.

i donated my cessna to a mate and he maidened it in about 15 mph wind with my old 3 ch wing without bracing. lasted about 2 mins, luckily the tape held it together and i managed to land it for him. still, not bad, his first time with a plane and he didn't crash.

agree with sporn, full throttle and show em who's boss. bit different with seagulls though. they're aggressive buggers.

You wont believe this but today i went out in gusty conditions with a 19" Lee elec RC and was catching some updraught directly above me, 80 - 100 ft and in gently glides a Red Kite , a full 6 foot Red Kite... - she followed ne in close formation til eventually we both settled on the same marginal lift, directly over head - the Kite took station directly above the Cub - she was clearly 4 times the size - positioned exactly in formation 2 feet over the Cub for nearly a minute ............it was beautiful - not once did she make an aggressive move - she treated it like a baby.......

All you need to do mate is get the Aileron wing (if you don't already have it) and stick a brushless setup in it. You don't need to reinforce the wing if you are not flying aggressive - but I did. Check this video out... I have since put a slightly larger brushless motor so she goes a but harder now. - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vO9VR3J9M4E

Nice video. What brushless set-up, prop & battery do you use?

Thanks Jumpmonkey, had a quick look at the Stryker, it looks like a good thing. Parts seem to be easy to get hold of here as well. On the sea gulls, a mate of mine found out all about them this morning with his GWS P-51 ! I'll take cockatoos any day!! Its unbelievable how many laughs you can have in this hobby! Can you post movies straight onto this site or do you have to link them thru another, like youtube?
