I've finished the test flying, it's going to need a few changes before it's ready to sell, if ever. It flies very well, much like an Edge, no real bad habits and would be a great first biplane, very easy to fly. Only thing is it's hard to work on. I'm looking for a bipe that's easy to transport and easy to assemble at the field.

I'm sorry Tom, but that's got to be the most unappealing bipe I've ever seen. I wonder how it would have looked and performed if the top wing, or both, were swept?

Hey Tom,
I think you should put a name on it. Like MUTT or POUND PUPPY. Sorry I just couldn't help it. Interesting design. I actually like it. If I had the money I would get it.

Well, I have to agree. As soon as I saw it I started having second thoughts about the project. It really is not attractive, at least to me.

Interestingly I have had a lot of in-person comments about what a neat plane it is. I always kind of stepped back to see who was saying it and if they were winking at me or something. BUt in every case they have been serious, so I am guessing that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, some people think it's cool and others think it's, well, not-so-handsome.

It still flies well, it remains a second level project for when I run out of other ideas.

For now I get to test fly the 97" Extra Special 1st unit today, this I am excited about. I also may get to test our new 120 sized Edge 540T, our first glow-sized plane.

Tom,

Do you ever get to sleep? It seems that you're always on the go!

A 120 sized EDGE. OH YEA. Tom I would really like to see pics of that. If it is built anything like your Gassers then it will be great. I might have to have one if they become available by Christmas .

Good news/bad news.

The good news is the new 97" Special is absolutely wonderful. With the new airfoil it stops snaps and spins IMMEDIATELY, no over rotation at all. Every snap I did was a quarter turn short because I'm so used to timing the rotation. Also it's really stable, smooth, and looks great.

It weighs 23.2 lbs ready to fly with BME 102, 10 servos, dual Lipo 1400mah packs and regulators, etc. etc.

I think they will be available in the November shipment, I hope Ihope I hope.

The other good news is the 120 Edge weighs 11.1 lbs with Thunder Tiger 1.20, ready to fly. This is a 26oz. wing loading.

Bad news.

The 120 Edge came out tail heavy. REAL tail heavy. I won't release this plane until it can be assembled without adding ballast with a regular weight 1.20 glow engine. Other than that it should be a really neat little plane. Think Jan. Feb. for this one.

I'm going to have to agree with Silversurfer here. That thing looks, like, a low wing 540T with a wing thrown on top as an afterthought. I don't think you should produce it, at least if it will look like that.

I think quite a few people were looking for something new and exciting when you first whispered things about a biplane. This is not either of these.

Sorry to sound harsh and it IS only my opinion. I really love the rest of your line - I just think this thing would stick out like a really sore thumb compared to the rest of your aircraft.

I appreciate all opinions and I don't totally disagree with you.

That's what it was supposed to look like, a bipe version of an Edge.

Whew, when I clicked the link I hadn't read these replys....
Un-handsome or less than good looking are the most polite ways to describe my inital impressions....
But then look at the Balsa Nova..hardly a peach to look at but terrific to fly.
Proof is in the puddin..if it flys exceptional people will buy it...
Not this person, but others I'm sure.

Sorry Tom, I agree with your assumptions...nice plane, nudge, nudge, wink, wink....

Tom, will you still be working on a round fuse bipe?
Sure would like to see a Pitts 12 or Mono wing Raptor from Wild Hare.

Not sure. The round fuse plane is still in the works, I'm supposed to see the 1st prototype in about a month. IF that works out there will be more.

Just FYI this round plane is coming from a different builder, the big question is will they deliver. I've had several who failed to do so, so I won't get real excited until the thing is in my workshop.

Well I guess we all agree that it doesn't look to good as is. When I first saw it my initial impression was disapointmnet. BUT, don't forget the right color scheme can compliment or destroy a planes looks. With some color on her might look better.

Tom, I think we all agree that seeing a Bipe out of Wild hare would be great. I love my 540T so much I really want to get another 50cc gasser to complement her. That doesn't mean an Extra. Something completely different like a sweet bipe or (grap your socks) a 50cc gasser pattern plane maybe. If you are like me you probably lay awake at night thinking about this stuff and what will be both fun and profitable. I wonder if you have ever thought about a 50cc size classic plane (racer or utility) from out of the 30's/40's or something.like that. If I've missed it, give us a peak into the old Wild Hare "if I only could" brain box.

I think one of the hottest tings right now is a bipe and I for one would like to add one to my stable. So far to date you have only built scale models. I would live to see a 28% Ultimate. You compete against gobs of Extra's and Edges and still sell well. It hink you could hit the mark with an Ultimaet perfectly. I am not big fan of a Pitts.

No one says it has to be scale though. I think the one of the best looking planes their is, is Chip's Double Vision. Just my opinion, but I love the looks of it. None of the price though. Something bi-winged and long and sleek. Patternship type of fuse. As it has been said a good color scheme can cover a multitude of sins.

Just make it fly better than my 28% Edge. That's a tall order
