it has never happened to me. i never even melted my stock clutch, but that sounded like what would melt shoes to me, because they will not melt when there disengaged, and they will not melt when there fully engaged.

yeah, but if they arent moving, how would they heat up? i melted my clutch on my buggy once, i melted it just a little and it completely screwed up the throttle completely.

the car is stopped, therfore the clutch bell is stopped, but the clutch shoes are still moving fast enough to cause centrifugal force which is what makes it engage. they are lightly rubbing on the bell causing them to heat up, and melt. if you lower your idle they would not have enough centrifugal force to streach the clutch spring.

Ran fine today after adjusting the idle. Now I just need more tranny gears. I went through some gravel and picked up a couple rocks and that was the end of it. It's getting cold here anyway, good time to go through and check it all out.

I had it set to run high at idle with the bakes set so it wouldn't move too much. Obviously not good for the clutch but it worked great for racing.

I turned in the shift point set screw and it still shifts within a couple seconds. It wraps out fast and could definitely take a little more extreme gearing. If anyone can find a clutch bell bigger than the 18/23t one or a smaller tranny then the 39t/44t let me know.

Well the clutch bell i ordered turned out to be a flop. The teeth are about have the size of the stock ones. I haven't given up yet. i found a couple more possibilities and if they work I'll let you know. No point in listing something that won't fit.

Anyone else own a Dbox (drift assist system)? I just got one and was wondering what other people thought of it.

they're a bit expensive arent they? they say it works well in both on and offroad, and the best spot for it is in the middle of the car, they say it helps a lot with steering, so let us know how it goes

Yeap I'm also interested. My initial thought was to use the Dbox as an anti-sliding system when combined with foams...I don't know if it will work either but let me know the result.

I got mine for $145 but I haven't even taken it out of the package yet. I'm waiting for my r40 to show up. I guess a lot of people think it's cheating because it makes cornering so easy. sounds cool anyway.

OMG! It's very expensive!!! Well I think that little slidings when on track are warm wellcome...just can't afford it (imagina that it probably costs 200+ euros here in greece...)!!!

I found it through hpiracing.com under parts for the r40. Shouldn't be that bad the U.S. dollar isn't worth the paper it's printed on anymore. I would check a currency conversion. I think our dollar is worth less then it ever has.

Yes but we have EXTREMELY high taxes here...If me or a distributor here orders one part from HPI, by the time it will arrive here to me/him the product's price will have gone 40%-50% up...
