For the magic wheel, we change a new name and new color. Later will have Ford F350(2008 version) car body on it.

I bought a smartech car a while ago, ran it a few times and didn't quite break the engine in all the way because it wouldn't start anymore. I took all the necessary precautions when breaking the engine in, and I pretty much tried everything to get it to start. Ever since then it has been sitting in my closet. I want to run it again and I'm pretty sure it needs a new engine. Does anybody have any advice for me on what I should do?

Start by taking the glow plug out and check to make sure it's still lighting up. I found that 9 out of 10 times if the engine won't start a new plug will cure it. If thats good check your fuel adjustment. Should be around 2 1/2-3 turns open. I have one that's a couple years old with the original engine that still runs and starts on first pull but it's getting so worn out I set the fuel needle at 1 1/2-2 turns open. Gets a little hot but runs great. I would try to lean it out a little before i bought a new engine. So check your plug, prime it, lean it out and let it rip....If your planning on getting a better engine anyways might as well use the stock one for learning. My first nitro car I had leaned out so much it ran at 330F. I know it's bad but it ran forever like that and when it did blow up I wasn't out anything because i had a spare sitting here.

so i just got a smartech ftom my buddy who had lost alot of parts for it and destroyed the gears, so i used servos off my cen and other misc stuff off my old cars and i somehow built a gear box,

my question is what are the factory settings for the engine. most are like 3 1/2 out for the high end but i have no idea on this car.

also i have no low end idle needle...its just gone there is the hole for it but that's it or its the one that should have the spring around it.

the stock engines are nothing to write home about..lol You would be better off getting an OS 18cv-rx or something better. Save yourself a lot of hassle.

I have a rapid VH-A6, I think it is related of made by the same company. It has a purp head and the engine jut says .18. It uses all the same parts as those but it has a 2 speed transmission. What 18 engine will work for it with the stock 2 speed cutch and transmission. it uses the same two speed transmission and clutch as the smar tech speedy tiger. I think it is a offshoot of smartech called FMT world racing, www.rccarmax.com/index.php?cPath=29_62&sort=2a&page=2. What .18 size engines will work with this clutch system and tranmission?
Here is a site with picks of what it looks like: www.lelong.com.my/Auc/List/2009-07DSale16497411.htm Also this model came with metal clutch shoes. i think this is almost the same car as the smartech winner 1. Does anyone know where to get the replacment carb for the .18 engine?

most .18 size engines will fit with the standard clutch system. The easiest way to find a carby for the engine is to measure the throat of the carby where it goes into the engine and match one up with the same size
