Somebody hasn't thought this one through...
1.Downloaded the trial version, installed it, tried to fly it, the program died.
2.Do the obvious thing - go to their bulletin board looking for help - nothing on it, try to post a message asking for help, can't because I haven't bought the product yet - not going to unless I know that it works.
3.Looks like the next step is to uninstall it.

Oh well, at least I only wasted 6 minutes on the whole cycle..

The forum requires registration before posting messages. Anyone can registers and takes a minute to register. I will help you to get the program running.

Here is what you can do right now:

Download version 1.05. Now there is a nice utility to test your conrroller interface and show you in great detail what is happened when you move the sticks.

If that works, the ClearView WILL WORK with your controller.

Please e-mail me if you have further questions.

Note to all:
Reflex controller has its own interface and will cause the program to fail.

See http://rcflightsim.com/controllers.html for more details on supported controllers.

what is the realism like in comparison to realflight. Realflight gives you a real good feel for hovering and flight. I tried FMS first but found that is was simply to easy to hover, could do it without any input to the controls.

Yes, I found the same thing to be true. In FMS it is was to easy to hover all you do i hit the throttle and you hover perfectly. I don't think that the idea of FMS was to teach someone to hover. I think it is so that someone totally new can play around on it and learn the basic controls. It also helps to learn how to control the heli when the heli is facing you.

The realism of flight in ClearView is way above RealFlight G2. Same for the graphics. FMS has very poor flight model. Download trial version and see for yourself. Before you run ClearView, run GamePad Tester program that is also included (GT incon on your decktop). If your controller works with GT, it will work with ClearView. Make note on paper what are the stick names as shown in GT. These are the stick names that Windows use. Use the same names when setting up your controller in the setup secreen of ClearView. You will have one tank of fuel to feel the flight model for yourself.

Skirtz, 10/10 for pumping your product 0/10 for a product that actually works. The controller discussion is without value - it just don't work. Nice screen shots, no support. Before you go into a conspiratorial "He must work for the competition" thought, I don't, I just get annoyed with the number of products that are announced, fail, don't have any form of support, and are then dumped. Get the support right, and who knows, yours might not fall into the trash can of oblivion.

How can you say that there is no support if:
1. I responded to you promptly offering to help you. I asked you to e-mail me and promised to work with you to get you going. Still no e-mail describing the problem you claim to have, but here is your unprovoked message.
2. The moment after I read your first message, I whent to the forum and unloked the posting so ANY visitor can post.
3. Did you list your configuration if you really wanted help? Your PC may be just a little old.

You opened the questions who do you work for. I am here to help. ClearView RC simulator sells for $30, it works and have new generation superior flight model and graphics way better than the leading simulator that sells for $200. Let's market deside what works.

Skirtz,
I'm in Europe. Your post was in the middle of the night. I don't care about your software enough to stay awake all night hoping that you might e-mail me - sorry.

My message was "provoked" because you've attempted to pump software that doesn't work, doesn't have a helpfile and originally had a forum that only works after you've paid for the software. You're not the only company that does this, and my response to any of them is the same - get it working before launch, and get the support side sorted out because users that pay for software should expect a working product, and not to be implicitly asked to waste their time trying to get something to work that isn't robust.

Here are the answers you're looking for:-

1. What controller do yoo(sic) have.
2. Do you see the controller on GT scerrn(sic) (GT is game pad tester utiliti(sic) that comes with ClearView) The icon name is GT and in(sic) on your desctop(sic).

Yes the contoller(A Futaba interlink) is seen and works correctly on the GT screen

3. Do you see the ClearView splash screen

The Clearview software gets as far as launching a no-graphic"loading" screen before crashing

4. Do you see 3d lanscape(sic) and helicopter after that

Nope, as I say, it's dead and gone by then

5. What error message do you get.

Nothing

6. What version of Windows do you run, what is your video card, how much memory do you have.

Dual AMD 2.2Mhz processor, 2 GB main memory, 2Tbyte SCSI Raid Array, Win XP Pro with all service packs and Activex updates, 256MB 6800 Ultra graphics card(2 months old), rest 6 months old. Too old? Too slow? - I don't think so.

Yep, one thing I can agree with you on is that the market will decide. It would be a first in my experience for buggy software with poor support to beat competition at any price(Unless you happen to be Microsoft, of course....) - but there's always a first time - who knows, yours might be the unique example.

Cheers

I downloaded the trial. Seems plagued with problems. The one selling isnt the same is it? after a few minutes, the program become glitchy. the heli would somehow crash in the air when i would do 3d way in the air, far from the ground. After a few more minutes, my mouse pointer disappeared. Had a few other problems where yaw would go nuts for no reason. Other than those probs, seems great... but now i need to reboot to get my moise pointer back

Hi There.
I downloaded the software and got it installed on my pc. How ever I get the following error message which I have attached

P4 3 Gig
512 ddr 400
Gforce ti4400 Graphics card

I managed to get it installed on my notebook and it works with my realflight interface. No sound though. I do find realflight much more realistic though.

Could you not make a patch available for download to test the software instead of registering first

I would suggest upgrading your pc video driver to the newest vesion from NVidia. OpenGL support is better in the latest versions and that in many cases fixes the video problem.
Regarding "no sound" problem on your notebook, it is hard for me to say what this can be, again, usually driver update may help.

This is a program that I wrote. I have flown helis for more than 15 years and the program combines my two big hobbies - flying and coding. The product is new and will shake up in few more weeks. My goal is affordable RC heli simulator with life like flying qualities. Feel free to post any questions or error reports at the forum on rcflightsim.com

Well i would like to try it but dont have my transmitter quite yet. Anyhow props for creating your own sim that someone without loads of money like me can afford. The realflight would be really cool to have but to buy it, one has to pay near 200 dollars and i don't have 200 dollars around for a simulator. Thats is why i just use FMS to just get the basic concept of it all. I hope you can get the problems and bugs fixed to make it a great simulator!
