This thing is off the hook. Man, what a first plane to start up with after being out of the hobby for over 12 years. I was suppost to meet someone there just as support for my first flight but the wind was 15 to 20 miles & hour and he didn't show so I though, I didn't come here just to look at it so up it went. I'm going back tomorrow to really test it out.

awww kool man, havent heard much of the UCD .46 guys lately. I'm glad ya got it up and down in one peice. I have had mine for about one whole month and still need to install the engine, (saito .72 4 stroker) servos, and a whole bunch of other odds and ends. Really don't have the time to build it. Anyways, how did she fly? Obviously it flew to your liking but I kinda want to know what to expect when mine goes up for the first time.

HAPPY FLYING!!!!!

Joe

I took it up again today. It's a little tail heavy and makes it a little harder to land. The engine died on me about 5' off the ground and it just sit right down and snapped off the main gear and the tail wheel. I was really shocked since it didn't really hit that hard. One sure way to tell if its tail heavy is to fly it inverted. If you have to add up elevator to keep it level, then its tail heavy. It's all repaired and ready to fly again as soon as I add some weight to the nose. I have the battery under the fuel tank and the receiver as far forward as I can get it. I have a Super Tigre G51 2 stroke on the business end and it dosn't have unlimited vertical, but I'm still running the engine rich for a couple more tanks of fuel. Good luck on your's, check the CG, there has been a revision on the CG of 4-6". I found the 6" CG to be not very good as far as landing. Also it makes the elevator really sinsitive.

Yeah I sure will, the LHS owner has one of these planes and he likes the CG at about 5-1/4", so, I will prolly let him ballance it out fer me. Plus I dont have the $$$$ to get a good CG machine. He has one at the LHS . I'll just use it. Sooo, the landing gear just broke off hu? Yeah I did hear that the gear was pretty fragile. Are you landing in grass? If you are and you have the wheel pants on, that may have been the reason. Don't quite know exactly what your setup is yet. How did you fix the gear mount? I am kinda curious because I'm still kinda in the beginner stage of things here, so I know that the gear mount should be the first to go. Back on CG, just a little talk here, instead of mounting a whole bunch of lead to ballance it out, why don't you just add a bigger engine such as a decent sized 4-stroker? It may give you more power AND also just might let you have more leeway to ballance the plane WITHOUT using lead. Plus, you might get to have that unlimited verticle!!!!!

LATER!!!!
