I purchased my kyosho m24 in june of 04. I was able to buy one of the first ones to be released. I had to buy from HK and ship to the US. If any one has questions, I learned to fly rc hellicopers on this machine. I can fly around my living room under control. As you can imagine I have learned from my mistakes with many replacement parts and building experience along the way. I started this thread as a place where I hope people will share their experiences and upgrades. I will also try to answer questions so please ask.

Advise to M24 owners. buy lots of pinion gears for the main motor. this is the part that brakes the most. to reduce the chances of pinion gear damage powerdown as fast as u can during a crash. You can also damage the gear if you power up too quick when starting up from rotor stand still.

Hello, I just got one of the M24's. I am in the Military and stationed in Korea so I I decided this would by good for someone like me who's always on the move. I used to fly .30 size helis back hwen I was a youngster but got out after joining the service just not enough time. But now i'm trying to re-kindle the old flame, just a little smaller.
the problem I have is I bought this used from the hobby shop here in Korea. I know it flies i watched the guy fly it. But upon my Madien Voyage I noticed that all the controls seem to be backwards or something its not the Right stick Cyclic and Left stick throttle and rudder that i'm used too? what can I do to change this I tried to ask the guy at the hobby shop but the language barrier is quite an issue here. also what if and modifications have you made for this model.

yes u can modify the radio to change the controls where power and tail are on the left control like a traditional config. I did this to my setup. I will post a pic and explaine how i did it when i have more time. basiclly u have to change spring location as well as switch some wires. 2 of the wires are short so u have to make an extention. as to your other question about tuning the main blades what u do is mark one of the blades at tip, and power up to see if the marked blade is higher or lower than the other blade. you will also find a vertical rod that stands up (not straite up, but at angle) this pitch rod is near the top of the rotor head. it is NOT the one that has a "U" shaped guide around it standing straight up. u basiclly shorten or lengther this rod by removing one end and twisting to tune. when blades no longer show seperation your heli is tuned.

I have flown a 30 gas, a arowhawk and a dragonfly. the m24 battery lasts for 15-20 minute continious flight. If you uselots of control imput, like almoust out of control, your time can be reduced by half.

I have not found a replacement for the pinion gear. It is the part that brakes the most. I am investigating brass but have not found a match yet. to reduce the chance of brakeing the pinion try to power down compleatly before craching. also always power up slowly at start-up. if pinion is weak and you power up fast it will rip the teeth off (this motor is strong). lastly make sure you ajust motor placement so it is not a lose conection. If pinion is too tight to wheel it will heat up and brake more easly as well.
