I flew the DV for the first time on Sunday, October 3, 2004 and I have to say it was real pleasure flying the Double Vision. The DA 50 R is nothing less than a powerhouse just waiting to be opened up. I did have glue the elevators on to the fusuluge. The sufaces just moved around to much. Do not plan on taking it apart. Looks good sitting accross my 2004 Ford Explorer Sport Trak bed.

I do plan on installing a smoker it the plan this winter. Mr. Hyde, excellent flying machine. I do wish you would work harder on part repplacements(bearing) and that you will give the information so that the DV can be flow on the AreoFly Professional ASAP.

People need to stop worry about the weight and fly the beast!

It should not be a problem, we are flying the Double Vision with a Kroma 50, Da 50, an a BME 50
just use the throttle wisely

The only issues would be that the cowl is REALLY gonna get eat up due to the side mount carb and larger engine... probably would just have to leave it off actually

The rear induction models are tidier... and even then need some relief for the muffler (or header) and cylinder head...

I think at 5 lbs + you are really adding alot of weight to the plane... yes the engine can pull it... but the wingloading (that is SO awesome with a strong 50) will be diminshed...

Mine's a little over 17 lbs with care taken not to weigh it down...

They quote e Brison as 4.75 lbs... and that may not include the muffler and ignition... The DA50 is 3.75 lbs all up... SO I'm guessing you'd add 1.5 lbs to the weight. You'll tote a larger prop too (more weight) and more fuel as well probably.

Ley's just say that the plane is so sweet... that I would sooner consider selling/trading the Brison for a better match than to stick with it...

Yu can check out the other DV thread... it has some info there...

Be careful about the cabanes orientation and aldo do NOT do the horizontal stab mod the manusl talks about... it was for older revisions.
