I have little radio control over my rc truck as of yesterday. With radio on the controls are at best jerky up to 10 ' range and nothing past that. It acts like interference, but I have run in this area for months with no problems and I have the same results at another location a mile away and 24 hrs. later.

I have changed batteries and check all connections and looked for frayed or broken wires.

I also switched the 27.045MHz crystal with another cars 64MHz crystal and that didn't work at all in either car.
Do I have a bad crystal, and why didn't the 64MHz one work, are they too far apart in frequency????

Sorry for the newbie question.

You can't switch from 27mhz to 75mhz by changing the crystal.

It's possible but there are many things that can cause glitching or poor range.

Is this an electric or nitro car?

Nitro, so what should I check that I haven't checked.

Lack of range....I'm talking 10 feet with the antenna pointed at the car and even then the servo's are jerking.

So can I get different frequency crystals for this radio if I stay in the 27MHz range, so when I do have interference and can switch them?

Thanks Mike.

What radio system and receiver do you have? What crystals are you using? If you are still having problems I would sent it in and we will check it out for you.

But turned out to be a newbie problem, the new batteries I installed in the car turned out to have one bad one in the batch, didn't believe it until I stuck a ohm meter on it them. Simple solution to a newbie problem, next time I will look hareder at the batteries instead of just putting in new ones.

Thanks again.
