I've currently got a micro heli, one of the cheap seemingly generic chinese ones I beleive.

It's my first effort into the world of RC helis (I've flown planes but never a heli before now). I'm fairly happy with this heli I have now (a jabo II), it's about what I expected for the price anyway. There's a few issues with it though that seem to be affecting how easy it is to fly.

Firstly, the servos supplied with it seem pretty slow, pretty underpowered, and also not very precise. The full trim travel on the transmitter barely moves the servos, certainly not enough to get the swashplate visually level.

Also the linkages seem to bind up a bit, with the rotors spinning there definately is not completely smooth movement of the swashplate, it seems pretty jerky in operation due to the two above factors I'm assuming.

I can't help but think that learning to fly is being made even more difficult by trying to lean on something that seems quite inaccurate.

Would moving up to something like an eco 8 which looks bigger and better quality be a smart move while I'm still learning?

I'd be interested to hear from anyone who's owned/flown both an eco 8 (or larger electric heli) and also a micro one.

Thanks for any info/opinions

Oh I should mention I'm also considering a zoom shogun, although I'm concerned that this wouldn't perform in wind as well as an eco 8 due to it's size?
