I have been wondering the same thing myself. Seems he's at least 'had' some of the best warbird ARFs available.

I don't have that many planes now because I've sold a few in the past year and lost a couple due to mid air collisions. I will try to dig out some pictures tonight. Thanks for asking. By the way, I only buy and fly warbirds.

LOL, wondering the same about you Richard. Let me ask you for your opinion if I may. I'm currently looking at the:

Hanger 9 Miss American P51
World Models P51 2nd Edition Ms. Petite
World Models Zero
Model Tech P47,

Can't you tell me what you think about them? I plan on using either a TT91FS/Mag 91FS for power. Thanks, I already own and fly H9 AT6 and H9 F4U Corsair.

thanks,

TT 91FS/Mag 91FS should work well in all of the planes you listed. I like WM P-51D and WM Zero over the other two. I wouldn't touch H9 Miss America since it's not military. Similarly, I wouldn't buy Rare Bear or Dago Red. Those Reno racers are pretty nice, but I'm afraid they don't do anything for me.

I developed a love for aviation at an early age. I started building and airbrushing 1/48th scale plastic models of jet fighters when I was in junior high and high school.

After graduating from the University of Washington with a BS Degree in Aeronautics & Astronautics, I decided to take a shot at flying RC planes.

My very first plane was a Kyosho Spitfire ARF. Yep, I jumped directly into a tail dragger and warbird. I had neither instructor nor simulator. I basically taught myself how to fly RC plane, and that was roughly three years ago. The little Kyosho Spitfire lasted 12 flights. Six or seven of my take offs were very ugly. I had an OS .46FX in it originally, but didn't like the sound, so I swapped it out for an OS .52 four stroke. The plane veered sharply to the left on the second take off and hit a fence because I was a newbie who didn't know how to use the rudder on take off. On the 12th take off run, I made a common newbie mistake of holding down the elevator too long. The plane lifted off prematurely, dropped the left wing, and spiraled into the ground. The fuse had a crack on its left side. I didn't know how to bash or fix an ARF back then, so I decided to toss the plane. I don't have any pictures of the Kyosho Spit because I didn't have a digital camera.

My second plane was the Kyosho Bf109E, which I bought shortly after the lost of my Spit. This plane lasted longer than the Kyosho Spit. I think I had around 40 flights on it. I flew it one afternoon and lost orientation, and that was the end of it. This plane looked great. I only wished the gear retract outward like its full size counterpart.

My third plane was the VQ Zero, which lasted around 60 flights. This plane had a YS 63FZ in it, which made it a rocket. I was coming in kinda crooked for a landing, so I decided to power up to try to go around. The left wing dropped quickly and the plane spiraled into the ground.

Since I liked the Kyosho Bf109 so much, I decided to get another one and installed a Saito 72 Golden Knight in it. I did a low Split-S one day and didn't have enough elevator to pull the plane back up, so that was the end of it.

I would give the GSP Hellcat a 9 out of 10. It is a great flying plane and it's also easy to land. Too bad the color scheme is not very accurate.

I bought yet another ME109E. This one was .60 size and made by Graupner. I was on final one day, and the elevator servo failed, which made the plane dive straight down into the ground.

I then bought a built Focke-Wulf FW190 A8, which had a nice fiberglass fuse and paint scheme. Unfortunately, the builder built it too heavy because it weighed 11 lbs with a wingspan of 60" and no flaps. The cowl was only big enough to take a .61FX two stroke. Since I was not a two stroke fan and the plane was too heavy for its size, I decided to get rid of it. It was a gorgeous plane though.
