latebloomer -> Headaches and backaches (10/11/2004 5:49 AM)

I got the spur gear replaced on my savage and had it on blocks today as I was breaking in the engine again, so I can retune it will run below 300f. The engine was difficult to start but I figured that was because of the repair downtime or the engine tuning problem. I got the engine started and played with the lsn and idle screw and throttle dial on my radio and that was it., but it still sounds like crap and it goes into higher rpm when it wants to. I screwed up my back during this time picking up my savage. the engines running rich as its always a good thing and the spur gear seems to be meshing properly, from using a mechanics mirror I bought over the weekend. I'm thinking of taking my truck back to my hobby shop and getting the engine dialed in, and not f**king around with it anymore or knowing what needle to tweak. I think a bearing is going either on the rotostart or the one way bearing on the engine, so I thought of a pullstart system this afternoon. I hate being a rookie at this stuff but I guess it wouldn't be any fun if things were easy to fix or build from the chassis up.

thats a best idea to go to your hobby shop and learn from them and your mistake.

I went to my hobby shop before who dialed in the engine, but when I got home I found the idle a little lot so I started tweaking. I turned out I was tweaking the low speed needle thinking it was the idle, but what I had done to the engine tuning wise was pretty good

better not touch a thing coz what i think your far from the settings , i bet your too leas on your
LSN and normal on your HSN. Since you've been screwing it so better go back to the hobby shop
and stop turning a thing. TRY GO TO HPI RC/FAQ FORUM/ TESTIMONIAL= IS BREAKING IN A SAVAGE SUPPOSED TO BE THIS EASY/
