Status: offline 		They have unbelievable prices, but are they for real? Are the ingredients measured by volume or weight?
I've emailed them 3 times with no response.

Status: offline 		I HAVE USED S&W FUEL FOR YEARS AND HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEM WITH THE PRODUCT. IT IS MADE IN PA. BY A SMALL COMPANY AND IS SOLD OVER A WIDE AREA OF THE EAST COAST.

THEY HAVE BEEN REASONABLE IN PRICE.

STAY 10 MISTAKES HIGH.

Status: offline 		Standard practice in mixing fuels is to blend by volume, not by weight. I expect S&W follows standard practice. I don't know anyone who mixes by weight. It all goes by gallons and ounces of methanol, castor oil, synthetic lube, nitro, other little additives that some mfrs use (anti-foaming, etc.). Plain old methanol and high grade castor oil is all you need, and all that went into early glow fuel mixes. Nitro is nice for a little extra power, better idling. Europeans use little or no nitro, because it's so expensive there. They still have a good time flying. Synthetic is not as gummy as castor, will burn in the combustion process where castor will not. Most engine mfrs like a castor-synthetic blend, anywhere from 10% up to 50% castor, 90% to 50% synthetic, total lube anywhere from 12% for big Supertigres to 20% for breaking in, 15% to 18% after break-in for ABC and ringed two strokes & four strokes. I am not an expert, but this is what I've gathered from my time in the hobby.

You can order a case of quarts to save the hazardous freight fee. The fuel cost more this way, but is cheaper in the end then having to pay the freight on gallon jugs.

Status: offline 		I use nothing but one type of S&W fuel, 15% normal mix, in all my engines, 2 and 4 stroke from a little Enya 0.35 to the OS 160 with Saito 0.91's in the middle.

I use about four cases (16 gal) per season, no trouble at all.

Status: offline 		Byron's percentages are by weight, and some of Powermaster's fuel's percentages are by weight. "The lower percentage fuels are by weight to avoid conflct with the quanity of nitro in the fuel." is the e-mail response I got from Powermaster when I asked the question. I've read that sentence a dozen times and I still don't know what it means! Neither Byron or Powermaster mention the fact on their websites that they calculate by weight. I don't know how many manufactures do calculate by weight, but I know that Morgan and Wildcat percentages are 'by volume'.

Status: offline 		I actually talk to S&W on the phone. He said they actually bottle fuel for a few of the "NAME BRAND"
companys. I am ordering a case of there fuel when I run out of my current supply.

Sounds like a pretty stand up company.

Status: offline 		I've burned through about 4 gallons of S&W (most of it 15% 50-50 mix) and 2 gallons of Sig Champion 15% in the last year. I can't see a difference in the fuel with the exception of price (S&W is about $4 cheaper per gallon if bought at RC Buyers Warehouse, or over $8 cheaper per gallon when my club buys in bulk). It's good stuff. I'm now using their FAI with good results on my MVVS 40...

Status: offline 		I am currently using S&W fuel, nobody locally has Omega. I find the Omega provides a little more performace. In the spring I will be ordering a bulk order of Mach 7 fuel which is Morgan's direct sell brand. I like this fuel alot!. The prices are decent and it runs very well in my engines (OS,Enya,Magnum,Webra,ST,ASP). The S&W is used by many of our club members with good results, just not my first choice.

Status: offline 		Virtually all members of the Atoms RC club use S&W Fuel. They're close and we pick up the fuel as needed. No problems.
