ok, i'm trying to come up with a nose art subject for a b-17 i am working on. i am trying to develope the nose art before i paint the model with all the markings. i have been searching the internet for pics that i might be able to use and here is a couple i have been working on. i have been cleaning up the pics removing rivets and shadows with a photo program called photosuit. a windows xp program "photo impresion could also be used". i was planning on printing it out on my pc printer on photo paper and having a grafix shop copy and print it out as a vinyl decal. i suppose it might also be possible to make something with one of these water slide decal kits. any ideas are welcome and if anybody has had expierence doing this please share.
here are a couple pics of before and after i have worked on it.

I have printed out the art on heavy card stock and cut it out with an x-acto to create a stencil for each color. Then spray the stencils with the correct colors with an airbrush. I then use a black felt tip pen to outline the sprayed colors. It makes a more realistic looking job and avoids that shiney look that viynl creates.
