It's turning out to be like everything else. A lot more work then first thought. Lining up the engine in the right spot and having the muffler match the exhaust stack is nearly impossible. Been messing with it most of the day. It's close but I think I'll have to cut some clearance on the bottom of the firewall. There is just exactly enough difference in the two engines that I'll have to redo everything just a little bit. I'm in the house right now venting. I'm sure when my blood pressure drops I'll think more clearly and will come up with something that will be acceptable. LOL.

I don't think there will be much progress but I'll post some pictures this evening when I'm done for the day.

Status: offline 		Were on our way. I first lined up the engine with the existing opening in the cowl. That is where the other engine was so it should work the same. Then I cut some clearance for the muffler on the bottom of the firewall. The exhaust stacks were about a 1/4 in off so I'm moving them to line up with the muffler stacks. One is done and one to go. I'm feeling much better now.

Bob. I'm saving the Wine for tomorrow night. It's the anniversary of the first date with my wife..

Well the refit is looking great I new you gould do it (its cald a little hack and wack) and then it fits. in one of your pic's it looks lke the end cap of your muffler is held on eith alen head screws if so what did you change in side ? reason I am asking we our club is getting some heat from a new nabor, so we are making an effort to get all of the gassers down to 95 db and with luck to 90 so we are looking at doing some internal mods with out reducing power.

Status: offline 		Bob T. The end cap is not really that. there are 3 blind nuts that I use to screw on the bracket with. Here is a picture of the bracket in use.

If I get time this winter I will also finish the inner gear doors. I've had the sequencer and the air cylinders for almost 2 yrs. We'll see.

sorry been flat out with work. Has been bedlam, big deadlines to hit and loads of stress. Worst of that is past for the moment and I am calming down again.

No progress on 47 except to look at it.

Seafury; I still have to prime & colour coat the repair areas on the stab and fin. Not big thing but have to get myself in the mood. Have to finish spraying a car panel today so while I'm painting that will also get the SF done too.

My lady is not back for 2 weeks yet, currently staying with friends in Kansas City and enjoying a much needed chill out and grounding after a hectic 3 months of travelling. She is back to her old self I am happy to see. She was to get a series of Greyhound buses to Birmingham Alabama which I have been very worried about and her friends in KC talked her out of it for obvious safety reasons which I am very happy about. So a $200USD investment in her wellbeing is money well spent.

She now flies to Birmingham this Sunday and will be there till the 15th, then 3 night in Vegas, couple of days in San Jose' with family, short stint in San Fran then has 15 hours in LA before flying home. She will be back home lunch time on the 23rd.

I've banned her from such trips in future and she has happily agreed LOL!!

Got the stacks lined up. Now I have to match the part that exits from the fuse. One got longer and one got shorter. I'm busy today so I'll have to get to it tomorrow.

Status: offline 		Got the intake bend in from Vogelsang. It don't clear the Standoff for the engine mount. I'm going to space it out by cutting down the stock insulator block. That means I probably won't need the insulator block between the carb and the intake.
I've been making my own extensions so I thought I would try their bulk wire. It's the medium size that they sell. The medium is the same size as what comes on the Hitec Servos. I'll be needing some when my Extra comes in.

Status: offline 		I cut down the insulator and just hit it on the belt sander to flatten it out. I will have it milled later. This will be fine till I get everything worked out the way I like it. Looks like there will be enough of a gap between the firewall and the carb opening for air. I may open up the firewall anyway.

Status: offline 		Started setting up the linkages today. Due to the intake bend, I had to change the direction of the choke arm travel. I have found it easier in the past to to just make an arm out of aluminum to put over the original arm. This will be a manual choke cause I hate servo operated ones... Here is what I have done so far.

Status: offline 		Here is the rest of it. The best thing about this setup is there is no Choke servo needed. Even tho the lever is yellow' no one ever notices.
