I'm not sure I'll get any tonight as I don't plan to go home before going to my friends workshop.

But he is moving (and so am I) so I have to bring the plane home in the next 2 days so I'll get some photos shortly.

Michel

Sorry I missed your question about spackel it is a lite weight product for filling holes and dings in drywall I get mine from Home Depot,I use a product called DAP come in a 16 fl oz container.

I always dampen the wood befor applying and you don't want much thickness, it sands about like med/balsa, also I use a plastic playing card to spread. I have also used auto body putty (not bondo) its a laquire base mtl, but this is a lot heaver and again you don't want much thickness.

Hope this helps

It does thats why you wet/dampen the wood first, opens the grain a bit. I can't tell just whare but back about 20 or so pages there are some pic's both fillers being used.

There is also the same prodect pakgd by RED DEVAL just remember the product weighs less than the container

My maiden flight is getting very close. Everything is mounted, just waiting for better weather. Too much snow fell the past three days so it may be a couple of weeks out. I want to test run the engine in my garage when it warms up, to double check everything before it flies. I will post more when the initial runs are being conducted.
Nice to see so many P-47 under construction, awsome thread guys.

Craig

plane and parts are all primed. The days spent sanding where worth it!

I have only a handful of spots to freshen up. We used some marine epoxy primer (its white) The stuff was easy to spray and coated really well. I'll get some photos posted tomorrow.

This morning's weather report shows you trying to set records for "late"
spring snow and ice. Cabin fever has to be an ongoing factor in a larger
project to begin with.

Look forward to seeing your panel lines after you sand and peel the tape.
