Why? They already know how good it is. Keep it here so the rest can find out how good it is too!

Are you thinking those guys in the RCU pattern section are only interested in aircraft that look like tapered wing Lanier Stingers? We really need a SPA section in the “3D, IMAC and Pattern” section. Link to the SPA website http://www.seniorpattern.com/

I can't believe you didn't post this in the pattern section just because of something I said.

I just said it was outdated. It is. It's a flying box. I never said it was a sucky plane, I just said that for someone looking for a pattern plane, there are now better options. And there are!

I swear, you Kaos guys should start a cult or something

I flew the original Kaos with a Super Tiger Blue Head 60 back in the mid 70's and loved it. Just received my Utter Chaos "60" from Bluejay Airplanes. Still have the ST Blue Head to put in it. Anyone out there have any experience with the Bluejay airplanes. Also, what can anyone tell me about the Bluejay 80" Chaos. Still looking for an original Kaos 60.

I had a Koas, maybe Edd Morman remembers. I think he was there. I had it one day.
I was flying for about 1Year and never even seen a mid-air.
Well I saw my brand new plane come down during the second flight.
I prolly could have landed but choked. The other plane was in a million pieces.

Happened 400 yrds from the runway with about six planes flying around.
The other guy said " you owe me a plane, I was in the pattern"
I told him "get lost, a 1/4 mile from the runway is not in the pattern"

Scott (buildflycrashbuildflycrash aka "The Terror of Holly Field" : I have always said mid-airs are no fault. And I'll tell anyone. NO FAULT. I have yet to see someone try to hit another plane on purpose. Except goofing around with combat planes.

I built a vintage Bridi Total Kaos from a kit my Pop had from many years ago. I kinda grew up with the Kaos, Ugly Stick, and Telemasters. It might be an oldy but its still a goody. The plane flys like its on a rail. Really smooth and accurate, too. Then will slow to a crawl and land. I must say in a week moment I let my Kaos go to someone with a fist full of dollars. Dang I miss that plane...

Hi Guys
I know how you feel about your Kaos.I built one in 1986,
still going strong.Although it will probably be it's last year.
I liked it so much I decided to built another one.Made a plug
and mold, pulled my own.It is different from the original. It
has been lenghtened 4 inches, with built in down and right thrust,
The rudder elevator and ailerons have been increased in size and
the fuselage has been deepened for better knife edge. Also have cut foam
wings for it.with a carbon fiber gear.Neat plane.Thinging of kitting it,but certainly
don't want to step on anybodies toes.It can be built as conventional or tail dragger.

This thread was originally posted in the Fun Fly/Profile forum back before we had the Sport Flying forum. Topics like this are the reason this forum was started. Since there was a new reply to the thread I moved it here.

The plans are still available; take your pick among several domestic kit-cutters. If you do so, be sure to let us know which one. After you pay the set-up charge, some of us will be glad to take advantage of it...

Seriously, you can still find the kits on eBay, but be aware that vintage kits, especially old classics like the Super Kaos, are bringing top dollar these days. I paid $255 for a Sig Skybolt a while back, and won the auction ONLY because I screwed up and bid far more than I had intended to. This was right on the heels of paying $185 for a GP Super AeroMaster kit. After those two, I said to hell with it and quit looking at eBay... Which, when you think about it, isn't the smartest approach if one is interested in old kits; because the situation is only going to get worse.

I have built both the 40 and 60 size GP Super Kaos kits; the ones in the blue box. If you can find one of those, go for it; they are excellent kits. I have a 1975 vintage Bridi Super Kaos 60 kit in my stash; the GP kit is the same but with better plans and instructions. I'll build that kit one day; I also found a vintage OS 61 FSR for it.

I have found home with you guys, I have a Tower KAOS with a gold head OS, built in 85 and still flyable, a 40 size, built in 98 and not yet flown, Utter Kaos and Killer Kaos kits. I don't think I will ever find a more user friendly airplane (I have flown both the straight wing and taper wing Kwik Fli, they don't compare). Now, as soon as I get out Egypt and back to the states, it will be KAOS mania all over again. Hope my wife can put up with it.
