Guys,

I have the Midwest Starduster 40, and like the way it flys. However, I think if it was a little longer, it would fly well in the FAI Sportsman category, which I'll be competing soon.

I was thinking of scratch building a longer fuselage for the wing. I'd like to know how this elongation will effect the flying character.

1. Will I need to set the stab incidence again, away from the stock incidence, to make the plane fly as per stock?
2. Will the longer tail moment effect Knife Edge flight?
3. Will the longer tail moment effect the inverted flight?

Thanks in advance to all.

regards
Marcus

I've done the same thing to several ships with great results. A longer fuse would help track better and make the ship a bit more stable. You might have to increase to ele. throws some to compensate for the longer fuse. How much are you increasing it by? Hope you have fun with your experiments. Take care and hope you have a wonderful day.
