Saturday, October 23

I am wiped out. These 17+ hour days are killing me, in more ways than one. Weather was great again, as was the flying. All classes got to fly an Unknown and Known and there was a round of Freestyle. They are holding the results of the under-classes until tomorrow. The Unlimited is turning out to be a battle from 2nd to 6th. Mark, Chip, QQ, Mike McC, and CPLR are all bouncing around there. The field was cut to 15 for a "finals" tomorrow. Go Kiwi, Go Kiwi, Go Kiwi....

I'm off to bed; I hope get my head on straight for at least 1 of my Unknowns....

It's still daylight here in Hawaii, but the competition had to end hours ago there in Tucson. So let's see some results already, before you guys get too deep in the after-party !!!...

Oh come on Mikey - Don't rub it in... Just because Frazer Briggs has the skills to control a tail slide

Scores are up on on the DA site - Looks like Bogan really kicked ass!

World Champion for sure!

Not bad for a plane that had a whole new power plant installed just days before the comp. Gotta love the DA 200

Did Frazer even have a backup plane? not that he needs it..

I watched the video earlier today, what a difference the new motor makes.

Check out the individual scores on the DA Pilot Profiles - I didn't see any zeros under Bogans name...

Jason,

First of all, I'd like to congratulate you on your overall positioning within the field of flyers at the Shootout. I remember first meeting you when you showed up at the NLV flying field to practice for the final TOC (we didn't know that at the time). While hauling your Extra in, a newbie was having problems with a small OS engine on a trainer. You forfeited your practice time, set your plane and gear down and took the time to walk over to help this guy. I was really impressed and as you know, you gained my total respect. Many advanced pilots wouldn't give someone flying a trainer a second look. I couldn't believe that you spent the time with me that you did explaining some of the details of TOC flying with me as you did. I truly felt honored.

And now, during one of the most important contests of the year, you've shown your humble maturity (not old age) by letting the rest of us in on the happenings on a daily basis. I'll bet you had 17 hour days if not more. But, you also took the time to sit at a computer, often late at night or early in the morning (look at the post times) to write a little from a competitors point of view.

I just like to say that your are an inspiration to the rest of us that would just love to know what you've forgotten.

For your continual fortitude helping and informing the rest of the R/C community, I applaud and thank you.

John
