im getting an engine for my new K3 and have it down to the RB S7II or the OS VZ-B V-Spec (they are both about the same price of about 250, shipped). is the v-spec that much more powerful? i know v-spec were having reliability problems earlier, how does everyone like theirs now? how long are they lasting? i know the RB will last a lifetime.

what do u all think?

the ws7II is more top end power so if you have a big track go with the ws7II

i was limiting it just the regular S7II, not the WS7II. i know the latter is a great engine, but my track needs a little more low end, and im not a pro enuf to setup a clutch for the WS7II.

Can't give you any help with the V-spec, but on my K3 I am using the OS 21 VZ-R (P) Ver. 2. I only have about 1-1/2 gal of fuel thru it.

UF Dub- Get yourself a Nice P5 and call it a day. Math it and an RB 9886 Pipe (Novarossi,Rex,Top,Berg, Crono, JP 9886 are all the same) and you have a killer combo. I'm gonna test my P5 Variants with the new JP-2 Pipe and see how it does as well.

i ended up getting a good deal on a V-spec, so i thought i would give it a chance. will the 9886 work with it, or would a JP-2 work better? recommendations? thanks everyone for the input, helps a lot!

For the V-Spec- there is only one pipe to take full advantage of the motor. That is the OS-T-2050 pipe.

i have 2 vspecs..neither had a bearing problem...over had over 3 on one of them..but a broken reciever antenna decided it was time to give the con-rod a break...we rebuilt it..just havent broken that one in yet
the other one is around the 2 gal mark...tons of compression...idles for days...and blistering fast....according to hte dyno's...its the most power .21 on teh market...now im sure they have some mods that are faster..but the os can be modded too im sure

OS's are easier to tune than RB's typically. RB's require a rich low end to get bottom end power.

OS's tune easy and use the LSN lean settings to get things going.

Sorry sky but i have to dissagree- the 2050 is a good pipe but- a guy at the track has one on his and i run the JP1 on mine and there is NO diff in the performance at all ! we go down the straight and they go the same. i love my spec and will get another. very easy to tune and im at the 3 gal mark and it still has tons left. the other guys has 4 gal on it. the JP1 will work on a short track great! get the anodized one they stay nice... i saved a bunch in not getting to 2050 -that was what i was gonna get. even though thats what the manual calls for it is not the best choice in my 2 cent
