Gorilla! Gorilla!, Gorilla! I used epoxy, but don't see any reason not to use Gorilla glue. I like it just fine for hinges.

Just as a reminder, though, the two inboard hinges of the horizontal stab are shorter to allow the CF rod to pass through. Gorilla glue might expand and interfere with the rod.

Has anyone compared this model to the EF Yak or QQ Yak? I am very tempted by this model as it seems to build lighter than those two Yaks with the same powerplant.

Who imports this plane to the UK (if anyone)?

Thanks,

Angus

The Edge tracks very well and gives you that locked in feeling for precision flight. Flip the switch to high rates and now you have a 3d machine.

Tony,
Happy to hear that you are pleased. Could finally able to view your video off Gene's website, nice flying . How does the coupling seem to be and any recommendations before a first flight? Unfortunately attending to some family matters out of state will put my build on hold for about ten days. All the parts have arrived and the preparation work and dry fits have all been completed. Should have her done by the end of the month though . Here's a couple of pics of the graphics installed on the underside of the wings and stab halves. There will be another stripe on each stab half. This would have been completed had I not cut some of the material improperly . My friend Eric from B&E Graphics is shipping some more material and hopefully will get here and be installed before leaving. What do you guys think, does it improve the visibility?

Tony,
Could you be a little more specific in general? Your experience here will help us to start thinking about what to look for. Thanks...

sillyness,
Anymore word in what meaning? I had to cancel my out of town trip due to the forecast approach of Hurricane Wilma. Now we are preparing to get slammed and hope we will still have a home left on Monday morning. Last year when Charlie hit us, no power for five days. We are preparing our home right now and are awaiting word on weather we'll need to evacuate or not. Supposed to find out tomorrow, I think we've had about enough of this .

If we need to leave the planes will have to stay behind. The SUV will be full of irreplaceable things like my wife and German Shepherd .

Good luck from Australia Olstoney.

I think I would have a toss up between the wife and the planes.

Stay safe

Phil,
Thanks for the good wishes . After last year this is nothing new to us as 8 Hurricanes have hit Florida in the past 16 months. Before that 22 years here without even a close call and that sort of lulled everyone to sleep. Wilma is supposed to be much like Charley was in character, a compact fast moving storm when it arrives. Charlie ripped off 2/3 of our south roof in August of 04, so we have a steel roof now. We are prepared the best we can be and the track will be important as sometimes 50 miles can make a big difference in damage. I gotta take my wife though if we have to leave. There are just some things she does better than the planes do .

Good luck, Brian. I'm glad to be out of Florida. I was planning to move before any of the storms last year, but had to ride them all out before things were finalized. I don't miss them when they do come, that's for sure. We just get stuck with warm, muggy air and lots of rain. The winds are just a good breeze when they get up to us in SC.

By the way, good choice to take the wife and dog, they are a much better hobby in the long run!

Doug

Hi Doug,
It's just wait and see right now. The timetable has been pushed back a day to Sunday-Monday instead of Saturday-Sunday. Wilma is still moving NW towards the Yucatan and they are now expecting some interaction with the land and some wind shear. The storm is then supposed to make a sudden turn towards Florida and pick up speed when a cold front picks it up. The forecasters tell us to expect at least a category three at landfall with conditions similar to Charlie. Most of the computer models track to the south of us, a good thing if that happens. Of course Charlie was supposed to go to Tampa and came here instead . Part of my canceled trip was to look for some property in NYS, you can bet I'll re-book those flights ASAP when this is over. Then I need to get this plane finished .

Just to throw a a self congratulatory pat on the back. The current Model Aviation has a TBM ad with My Edge, taken in My yard, by ME! I was flipping through the magazine yesterday morning while talking to my wife and I recognized the picture. Took the magazine to work and showed all the girls (it's a hospital after all), and they could barely get an ooh and aah out. Oh well. It was still fun to say I made it into the magazine.

Brian, hope you are well after the hurricane and the trip to NY. Hope you get power soon or already have it.

Doug

Hi Guys,
Checking in from N.Y. and happy to report that we survived Wilma with only landscaping damage. Our home was 30 miles north of the eyewall and we took 90+MPH winds for about 5 hours. Our investment in the steel roof and hurricane shutters for our home seems to have paid off at least THIS time . I also heard from my friend in Boca Raton that our planes including the Edge escaped damage. We both thought that our equipment would be safer on the East coast of Florida than on the West coast where I live. My friend was going to install the radio gear for me while I was away on this trip anyways. As it turned out that was a bad decision, but no one knew that the backside of this storm would be the worst. The power was just restored in Boca Raton this past Wednesday, just amazing huh?

Good news is that I return to Florida on Monday and the Edge should be finished by the end of the week. My friend told me to plan to come over on November 12th and you never know, if I can get the rest of the graphics installed and the weather is good we may even be flying .

Doug,
Sorry I have not seen the photos yet, but congrats anyways !!

Sorry to hear that you guys have had some problems but wanted you to know that I purchased the PA Edge and really appreciate the feedback that you guys give, Thanks it saved me alot of aggravation in the build.PA should pay you guys.
Concerned about the motor. Did you break it in on a stand or on the plane and do you find it as dependable as a 2 or 4 stroke.(My first gas).

Regards
Richard
