I just flew my ST 90 today on a Goldberg Extra 300. I broke it in with a 13x6 APC and flew it with a 14x6. It turned 10,800 on 15% fuel set rich with only 4 16OZ tanks through it so far. Next time I will try the 13x6 and see how it does. It just looks funny on a 68inch Extra.

My 61FX has best performance with an APC 13x6 and my 91FX does very well with a Menz 15x8 @ 8900 rpm.
I just acquired a Cap with an ST91 on It and I anticipate a 15x6 or a 15x8 apc or Menz prop for best performance.
It's torque that makes the prop go around and the ST91 has great torque up to about 10,000 rpm where it starts to drop off.
Good Luck
John

I have a new G90 that I recently broke in. I am having a problem with the idle stop screw coming loose. Anyone have the same problem or know a fix?

RVator,
What muffler are you using, I'm finally building my "roundtuit" Goldberg extra, have a brand new china version of the G90 that I will be putting a Large volume Slimline pitts on, hope my numbers are as good as yours .

twazz,
I would get the strongest thread locker you can get , and lock that bad boy so that it does not in any way restrict the ability of the throttle to close, they should have eliminated the thing when they retooled in China, they are a safety hazard if they keep you from shutting down from the Tx. There I feel better now that I vented . I just looked at my never run G90 carb, and boy that does turn real easy, well I just bought a new bottle of thread locker the other day, so bottoms up
Good luck,

Pete

I'm running a G90 with a 15x6 APC and I'm getting around 8700 with 10% nitro fuel. I would think that it should be a little higher than that, but I had to plug one of the outlets on my Slimline pitts muffler to get enough back pressure, so that might be dampening it. It still throws a steady stream of smoke when she's flying, but if I try to lean it out any more, the rpm's dip when you point the nose up. Any suggestions?

UPDATE: It appears that even after a couple of gallons of fuel, she's still breaking in. When I last checked this week, I was getting around 9100 with the exact same setup! I guess these engines do take a long time to break in, but hopefully that means they will take a long time to wear out, too

I have a G90 (italian) laying on the bench and am curious how it will perfrom with the smaller props like a 12-9, 12-10, 12-11. I have a GP Shoestring with a Tower .75 that turns a Zinger pro 12-8 at 12,000 and I am looking for a little more speed. The package now is just awesome together, but I would like a little more speed yet if possible. I hate to disrupt the current installation, if the change will not be much. I have 10 gallons run through the Shoestring this summer with not one dead stick.

ST .90 in an CG Ultimate. Haven't flown it yet but it seems to be dialed in nicely...as long as I bring the power up from idle slowly. Any ideas on running a 3-bladed prop on the front of these things?

Getting back to the purpose of this forum............Have an ST G90 with about a gallon through it and it's turning a 13x6 MAS at 12,270 rich of peak. 77' above sea level, 78F 65% humidity. Fuel was 10% Cool Power.

Will be darned If I know. Actually if you look around you will find more posts with similar numbers using this prop. We actually used two different tachs as a buddy wanted to see if his was working at all. It was and then we compared to my tach to check accuracy as well. Best part of the day was when another guy who works in a Hobby shop and only uses OS pulled out his Matt Chapman Cap 580 with an OS 91 FX and could not pull me vertically or in a straight line. Identical props, both had 16 oz tanks soooo my draggy old Ultra Stick was lookin' good! Thats pretty cost effective in my book.
